South River was unable to come away with the victory, but that did not stop him from dropping a sectional high 33 points. The 5'10 guard showed off his quick release on his jumper and was also able to get into the paint off the bounce. Grospe routinely drew contact during the game as he took 11 free throws on the night. Grospe's illustrious varsity career has come to a close as he ends with over 2,000 points and 800 assists.

Jones and Chukwurah both dominated the game for the Bombers as they combined to score 52 points. The later was a force on the interior as he got position down low and showed a nice touch around the basket. Jones was lighting it up from behind the arc with five made triples, but was also able to get into the paint off the bounce. Sayreville hosts Freehold Township on Monday as the Bombers look to go deep into the sectional tournament.

Honorable Mentions: [player_tooltip player_id='1790209' first='Ethan' last='Lin'], Montgomery: 31 points; [player_tooltip player_id='2763472' first='Juan' last='Sanchez'], Trenton: 25 points

North Jersey 1 Group 2: Joe Ceritelli, Westwood

Ceritelli was instrumental in the Cardinals' comeback win as he had a game-high 24 points and seven rebounds against Jefferson. The 6'1 wing was a sniper from behind the arc as he drained seven triples and shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Ceritelli worked hard on the glass and showed his passing ability with four assists on the night as well. Westwood is going to need another performance like that on Monday as the Cardinals travel to play Glen Rock in the sectional quarterfinals.

Honorable Mentions: Brian Appiah, Mahwah: 20 points-10 rebounds; [player_tooltip player_id='1943564' first='Alex' last='Fessel'], Vernon: 26 points

North Jersey 1 Group 4: [player_tooltip player_id='1411405' first='Johnny' last='Jackson'], Ridgewood

Jackson powered the Maroons in their opening round win over Clifton as he dropped a game-high 28 points. The 5'11 guard has a clean release on his jumper and shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Jackson did more than just shoot as he also got into the paint off the bounce and made smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Jackson is looking to end his varsity career with another sectional title and should be torching the nets from deep against Bloomfield on Monday.

Honorable Mentions: [player_tooltip player_id='1853418' first='Jahi' last='Whitney'], Montclair: 26 points-3 assists; [player_tooltip player_id='2421324' first='Talan' last='Bacote'], Bloomfield: 22 points-8 rebounds

Gastelu did a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs in their opening round win as he finished with a game-high 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Th 5'10 guard played with composure on the ball as he was rarely sped up and got to his spot on the floor throughout the night. Gastelu worked hard for rebounds and showed assertiveness on the offensive end when attacking the basket. Rutherford will need another performance like that against Newark Collegiate on Monday as the Bulldogs look to make it to the sectional semifinal.

Honorable Mentions: Johnny Chaname, Lyndhurst: 22 points; Isaiah Green, Hillside: 22 points; Isaiah Blanks, Hoboken: 21 points-3 rebounds

Taylor exploded for the Blue Knights in their upset win over Scotch Plains-Fanwood as he dropped a game-high 32 points. The 5'10 guard was dynamic off the bounce as he was consistently beating his defender off the bounce and finished nicely around the rim. Taylor shot the ball with confidence throughout the game and showed the ability to play off the ball as well. Taylor has the ability to put up points in bunches and will look to put that on display against Ridge on Monday.

Honorable Mentions: [player_tooltip player_id='2344521' first='Micah' last='Gordon'], Plainfield: 23 points-5 assists; [player_tooltip player_id='2763424' first='Markeis' last='Isley-Monroe'], Dickinson: 21 points-10 rebounds

Munro and Brooks helped the High coast to victory against Pennsauken Tech as they both dominated the game at both ends of the floor. Brooks ran the offense with elite precision as he threw dimes and found the open man all night to the tune of 21 assists, while he also had seven steals on the game. Munro was a force down low as he used his good footwork and touch around the rim to finish off with a game-high 32 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Brooks and Munro will look to continue their dominance in the sectional quarterfinals as Camden hosts Lower Cape May on Monday.

South Jersey Group 4: [player_tooltip player_id='2342602' first='Jake' last='Sliwinski'], Southern Regional

Sliwinski did a little bit of everything for the Rams in their win against Pennsauken as he had a game-high 24 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and five steals. The 6'1 guard attacked the basket with a purpose as he finished strong around the rim and showed a nice touch in the mid-range. Sliwinski used his instincts to jump passing lanes and worked for rebounds on both ends of the floor.
