The regular season is almost over, with conference championships wrapping up next weekend. Here are a few notable stories to keep in mind as things come to a close:

The Sallies Resurgence

Playing such a tough out-of-state schedule obscured how good this Sallies team was and is. But they also dropped games against St. Andrews and William Penn, whom many would argue they were favored over. Now they've won 7 games since MLK Day and clinched a spot in the tournament, including wins at Smyrna, vs Sanford, at Odessa, and vs St. Georges. A huge reason is that [player_tooltip player_id='2352339' first='RJ' last='Johnson'] is playing like a top 5 overall player in the state. If they leave Dover with a win on Monday, he should get some all-state consideration. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2352454' first='Kevin' last='Coleman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2352451' first='Latrell' last='Wright'] have been crucial for them too.

Dover being Dover

Perennial favorites in Henlopen conference, The Senators are boa constricting their way to another downstate title run. Between [player_tooltip player_id='2352457' first='JayVion' last='Denis'], [player_tooltip player_id='2352453' first='Chase' last='Little'], [player_tooltip player_id='2352344' first='Istavan' last='Norwood'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2352455' first='Tarrance' last='Williams'], they have a different leading scorer every night. However, what remains consistent, regardless of what's happening on offense, is their defense is always top shelf. They can roll out guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2625264' first='Kam' last='Randolph'], [player_tooltip player_id='2375181' first='Shadrach' last='Mansaray'], [player_tooltip player_id='2375232' first='Kareem' last='King'], and Tai'shaun Allen and still expect to get stops. For that reason, you can practically book them a spot at the Bob right now.

Delcastle Tech in February

Every year, during Black History Month, the Cougars seem to clip somebody ranked ahead of them. In ‘22, it was Tatnall; in ‘23, William Penn; and in back-to-back seasons, Howard. Although they're struggling through Flight A at just 5-14, they have a promising crop of underclassmen to look forward to for next season. [player_tooltip player_id='2628287' first='Xylon' last='Aikens'], [player_tooltip player_id='2386201' first='Sethian' last='Reed'], [player_tooltip player_id='2628290' first='Cinese' last='Kamara'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2622969' first='Tyler' last='Pettiford'] — alongside their leading scorer, ‘26 [player_tooltip player_id='2775536' first='Yorel' last='Stevens'] — give them something to look forward to next season and in years to come.

Milford's Farrington is Quietly Having a Great Season

And it's only quiet because Milford isn't a traditional powerhouse and too folks here don't pay attention to what goes on downstate. [player_tooltip player_id='2461953' first='Elijah' last='Farrington'] started off loud this season with a career high 40 points versus Caesar Rodney. He's since erupted for several 20 and 10 games since. Farrington is also making splash plays as a shot-blocker. So, with that, he should be a lock for first team all-state.
