2027 East Postseason Names To Watch

With the regular season wrapping up, we take a look at some guys that could have a really big impact on the conference tournament and playoff outcomes.    Standing around 6'9 with nice length and the ability to step out and shoot jumpers out to the three point line he might be one of the most unique prospects in the area code. He has his Warren County squad sitting at 15-10 heading into the postseason which is their best finish since 2016-17.     He's one half of one of the top scoring backcourts in the East and has looked a lot more confident in his sophomore season. 451 points scored going into the postseason is no small task for anyone but even more impressively he has increased his scoring and rebounding output from 11 points and 3 rebounds up to 20 points and 7 rebounds. Also carries impressive shooting splits of 51/40/80 making him one of the most efficient prospects as well.      East Wake has turned around their 5-6 start to the season with an impressive 14-1 record in conference play. [player_tooltip player_id='2326276' first='Corban' last='Woodard'] has been their most impactful piece on an upperclassman laden season roster, leading the balanced attack in both scoring and rebounding. He stands around 6'4 with a strong frame, a nice scoring bag that extends out to the three point line, and a unique nose for the ball that leads to his share of rebounds on both ends.       Not many teams in the state have a guy who matches the measurable of the 6'9 240 pound sophomore forward. Greene uses his size and strength well to carver out space and dominate opposing post players around the basket on both offense and defense. He's averaging just under a double double with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and two blocks per game and the Fike HS Demons have won 15 games this regular season their largest win total since the 18-19 season.      Stepping into this season as the new guy on a team that featured nine seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2415176' first='Zarion' last='Hobbs'] has done a nice job of making a name for himself in a White Oak uniform. Leading the squad with 13.5 points per game he has done a nice job of adjusting to his new teammates and has come up big time and time again. If White Oak plans to make a run in the postseason they'll need some scoring production from their sophomore bucket getter.       South Granville has just completed their 3rd straight twenty win season in a row, [player_tooltip player_id='2415811' first='KJ' last='Terry'] the 6'5 due it all forward is an important piece to that equation. Averaging an impressive 17 points with just under 8 rebounds and 7 assists he impacts the game in just about every way imaginable for this Vikings roster. His length and athleticism also make him a terror on the defensive end where he averages 3.3 steals and just under two blocks per contest.     Finishing 6th in scoring and 2nd in rebounding on an Eastern Wayne squad, who won their first conference title in the MaxPreps era, he isn't their best player but potentially their most important. Standing around 6'7 the long forward can step out and hit the mid range and he does a nice job of challenging most shots at the rim. He also had one of the wildest putback dunks I've seen this season, Eastern Wayne will need a solid contribution from their sophomore forward if they plan on making a post-season push.
