Top New Names from 2027 Rankings Update Part 2

Our 2027 rankings update saw 18 players added to our list, expanding the total ranked players in the class to 46. In this article we'll break down six new additions!    Lutheran East is one of the most talented teams in Ohio and Manigat adds to their depth with another wing who can make shots at a high level off the catch. With the ability to knock down shots from a few feet behind the line with confidence and a quick release, Manigat is a valuable floor spacer. He also looks the part physically and has made some plays defensively in the games I've caught of the Falcons this season. It'll be interesting to see how Manigat fits in with such a young group that will all return next season.     One of the top standouts at our Sophomore ID camp this fall, James does a lot of things that college coaches like to see. For starters, James is an elite defensive point guard with the ability to lock down on the ball. I also like how James sets the table for his team and is able to drive and kick to an open teammate. I have also been impressed with the year over year growth James has made, going from an energy bench option as a freshman to one of the leaders of the team as a Sophomore.     One of the top scorers in the greater Cincinnati area, Washington is currently leading the Miami Valley Conference in scoring according to their official website. An undersized guard who is a blur on the court and able to get a bucket, Washington is a prospect I'll be keeping my eyes on to see how he fills out and if he grows. He's already one of the most productive scoring guards in the area and leaps in other areas will take his game to the next level.     Mister had a strong summer for Emmanuel Christian, showing his ability to create for himself and score off the bounce. A tough shot maker, Mister plays in rhythm and on balance. Also able to attack using either hand, Mister isn't a guard you can shade to one side or the other. Facing a tough nonconference schedule, Emmanuel Christian is 6-5 but 3-0 in league play, we'll see if those tough tests pay off come playoff time.     Another Division V powerhouse, Harvest Prep always has talent that will play at the college level and Pollard is the next young star in line. A prototypical 3-and-D wing, Pollard makes shots off the catch and makes plays defensively. I am hoping to see him become more confident as a ball handler and playmaker in the half court as an upperclassmen, but Pollard already fits in so well on a team with a lot of returning experience from a state championship appearance last season. One of the best wings in central Ohio's 2027 class, Pollard is a name that fans across the state will become familiar with.     Cleveland Central Catholic has a nice 2027 guard tandem between Driscal and [player_tooltip player_id='2140872' first='King' last='Young']. Driscal is an athletic shooting guard who can knock down shots on the perimeter but wants to attack off the dribble in the half-court or transition. A flexible athlete, Driscal can change directions and speeds quickly and watching the way that he moves, it's no surprise he's also a standout on the gridiron. I'll be curious to see if Driscal grows because that would allow him to defend bigger players and continue to be a guard who attacks closeouts and plays off the ball. One of the more talented under the radar names from northeast Ohio.
