The OHSAA basketball season is less than a month away from tipping off and we're previewing the top teams in each Division. In this article we'll take a look at five teams from Division IV who made our top 10 but are on the outside looking in for our top 5.

6. John Glenn

You won't find a bigger MVL basketball fan who lives in Cincinnati than myself. I'm a big believer in the talent of the teams and star players on these teams and the Little Muskies return four starters from an excellent team last season. Despite the impressive depth, this team will go as far as [player_tooltip player_id='2726595' first='Stehl' last='Bates'] can take them. One of the best players in the eastern district, Bates is a prospect who should get a handful of small college looks this winter.

7. Jonathan Alder

A league that I expect to be much improved this season is the CBC. Jonathan Alder has dominated the league in recent memory and I expect them to be at the top again this winter but it will be tougher than usual to stay at the top of the conference standings. With a nice mix of seniors and sophomores on the roster, Jonathan Alder will look for [player_tooltip player_id='2530669' first='Danny' last='Bentley'] to make the jump from the fourth leading scorer on the team at just under 8 points per game to a primary offensive option.

8. Dayton Northridge

[player_tooltip player_id='2822495' first='Keonte' last='Smith'] has drawn national attention thanks to his performance with [program_tooltip program_id='2076317' first='Midwest' last='Basketball Club 3SSB'] 15 U where Smith won MVP of the 3SSB circuit. He's back with his older brother Deonte who is a senior for the Polar Bears. After a 21 win season and unbeaten conference record last season, now Dayton Northridge will expect to contend for a regional title.

9. Cincinnati Taft

You'll never have a shortage of guard talent on Taft with 2027 duo [player_tooltip player_id='2453391' first='Keion' last='Griffin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2286927' first='Monsana' last='Torbert'] back for the Senators. They also add [player_tooltip player_id='1812058' first='Antwan' last='Hinton'] who is on his third CMAC school of his career. Taft is going to play fast, look to force turnovers and try and outrun their opponents once again this season which has been a winning formula for them in the past.

10. Meigs

A 21-1 regular season and unbeaten conference title season was spoiled by an early playoff exit Vs New Lexington. Now the Marauders are back for [player_tooltip player_id='2426924' first='Carson' last='Davis'] senior season where he'll be looking to go out on top. 2027 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2751430' first='Reed' last='Brinager'] transfers out to county program Southern but 2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2890892' first='Colben' last='Beucler'] transfers in from Oak Hill who should help on both ends of the court. I expect Meigs to again approach 20 wins in the regular season and hopefully win a district title in the Convo.
