Mister has a different level of athleticism this year. He is a lot more spring in his jumping ability. He is an explosive player when attacking the rim. He has a nice between-the-legs package that he uses to either blow by you or freeze you to get his shot up. He is quicker than last year and has a great first step. He is an elite athlete and can play at any speed or pace.
Mister is a recurring Toledo Top 64 participant and someone I expect to make a big leap between his sophomore and junior years. He has been a variety player at Emmanuel Christian for the first two years of high school, but now starts a new journey at Clay. I expect him to be the focal point for their team and offense. I think he will be great in this role because of his ability to attack the rim. He is a quick and athletic guard who is extremely hard to stay in front of.
The most impressive player I caught during the drills portion, Mister was killing with numerous tough isolation buckets and contested shots. The ability to rise up above defenders and hit shots with a hand in your face is tough for many players but Mister got on a heater and couldn’t be stopped. His group of three players were going on runs where they would score four or five times in a row before being taken off from offense. Now at Oregon Clay, Mister is coming off a strong July with HoopTech and will look to carry that momentum into the school year.
Mister showed the ability to be a threat as a scorer and a facilitator throughout the game. He does a great job navigating downhill on the attack and getting to different spots off the bounce. He made a living at the foul line converting on several chances from the charity stripe. He turned defense to offense and put himself in places on the floor at the right place at the right time. Mister led Emmanuel with 15 points.
Mister had a strong summer for Emmanuel Christian, showing his ability to create for himself and score off the bounce. A tough shot maker, Mister plays in rhythm and on balance. Also able to attack using either hand, Mister isn’t a guard you can shade to one side or the other. Facing a tough nonconference schedule, Emmanuel Christian is 6-5 but 3-0 in league play, we’ll see if those tough tests pay off come playoff time.
Mister is someone that you want on your team because of his competitive effort and ability to play the game. He is a winner that you want on the floor to end games. He has a solid strong build with great athleticism. I like this kid’s defensive effort and intensity. He is a good slasher who has good physical finishes.
Mister is a prospect who I caught at the Ashland team camp and he impressed me with Emmanuel Christian. Not the only Emmanuel Christian prospect to stand out at this event, Mister was making some tough buckets on Sunday. Really comfortable in the mid range area, shot contests don’t really phase Mister from the 12-18 foot range. The next step for Mister will be continuing to evolve as an athlete, he will have the fall to stay in the weight room to improve his strength and explosiveness. One of the more skilled guards from the Toledo area in the 2027 class.
Emmanuel Christian once again has young talent coming through their program and Mister was getting some valuable reps as a primary playmaker from the guard position. Mister had some floaters off drives to the basket where he beat the primary defender. I thought Mister showed some decisiveness from the triple threat position, being tough to prevent from getting into the paint. Also knocking down a couple perimeter shots as well, Mister showed me some diverse scoring ability. When Emmanuel Christian moves the ball and doesn’t turn it over they will be tough to beat, Mister will be a key piece to try and achieve those two basics of the game in the half-court.
I’ve only seen Minster play one time and I am big fan of his game. He is the type of kid I want to build my team around. He is a phenomenal athlete. He is quick with good speed. Even though he is not the tallest he has a good-sized body that shows his good strength. He handles contact very well for a kid that has not played a high school game yet. He is great in transition at getting to the rim and finding teammates. His passing ability is something I love. He makes sure everyone around will get the ball. He is a lockdown defender. He is not scared to guard anyone. He applies great on ball pressure. Minster will be someone I’ll make sure to be watching at the event.
