If I am an unbeaten team and have to play Canton Central Catholic at the Battle at the Berkey, I’m doing whatever it takes to get out of that game. For a second straight season the Crusaders have a dominant offensive performance to upset a previously unbeaten squad in Smithville. Minor and senior guard Jake Bowing led the way for Canton Central Catholic. Minor has shown clear improvement as a mid-range shooter, knocking down a handful of jumpers from the 12-18 foot range. To open the third quarter Minor had a putback layup and to end the quarter he scored off a pick and slip action just before the buzzer. In the fourth quarter Minor had a strong and-1 finish off a drive to take the lead and hit two clutch free throws as Canton Central Catholic iced the game away. This level of production needs to be consistent for Minor as he has impressive physical tools.

Minor is an ever improving post player who is just starting to scratch the surface. He can score around the blocks. He also has good timing when going to contest a shot. Minor is also able to show that he can move the ball around to his teammates as a passer. Minor needs to work on getting stronger and getting his legs and hips faster on the defensive end.

Got to see Minor with Canton Central Catholic this winter and left impressed with the size and skill level he showed for a freshman. It was easy to see the potential with Minor and why Wildcat Select made him a priority for their 15 U group. A prospect I only got to see one high school game in person, I got a glimpse on what I saw from Minor’s highlight tape. I’ll definitely be closely monitoring Minor’s development over the next few years.
