One of the more exciting players in northeast Ohio, Young plays with a flair and confidence that’s tough to beat. A very small guard, Young does a nice job of using acrobatic finishes at the rim to avoid shot blockers. Young also makes shots off the bounce and catch from the perimeter and rises to the occasion. It’ll be interesting to see which schools make Young a priority as his size will be a question mark for some college coaches. Luckily for Young, his production speaks for itself after being named to an all-state team in Division I as a freshman.

The Cleveland Central Catholic Vs Maple Heights game had a bunch of excitement surrounding the pregame with players transferring over on both sides from last season. Young was at Maple Heights as a freshman and has since made the move to Cleveland Central Catholic. This was my second chance to watch Young (both have came at the NEO Youth Elite Christmas Classic) and he once again performed at a high level. Young just finds a way to make plays in the most dramatic of circumstances, his buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end the third quarter was a prime example of him flat out being a gamer. One skill that Young is elite at is body control and touch at the rim. It’s really tough for undersized point guards to really make a name for themselves as college prospects but Young shows some unique abilities that could see him beat the odds.

Maple Heights got it going against Elyria and their defensive pressure forced a ton of turnovers, which led to easy buckets. Young is a smaller point guard but very quick on the ball and able to change his speeds to blow by the initial defender. Also already able to knock down the 3-point shot, Young made the defense pay when they went under the screen to try and beat Young to the spot on drives. As a slasher, Young also showed advanced body control for his age and appears to be one of the top guards in northeast Ohio’s 2027 class.
