One of the tallest transfers in the OHSAA this year, Belcher and his brother came from Fort Wayne, Indiana to provide extra front-court depth for the Bulldogs, who have state title aspirations. In the only Garfield Heights game I watched all year, Belcher was productive early with multiple blocks and a monster dunk while rolling to the rim. Impressive physical tools to work with, Belcher has a frame that will be ready from day one to handle college physicality. If Belcher can continue to improve offensively, he could find himself in the rotation sooner rather than later.

Coming in from Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Belcher brothers add another dimension to the Garfield Heights roster with legit size and strength on the interior. Belcher started the game off with a bang as he had multiple blocks on the first defensive possession alone and rolled to the rim for a two-hand jam in the opening minutes. With his massive frame and physical tools, Belcher is a scholarship talent and with Ohio lacking with bigs of his size, Belcher could play a huge role in a potential playoff push for the Bulldogs who are expecting to end their season at UD Arena in the state title game.

At a true 6-foot-8, Belcher has proven to be one of the more dominant big men in the state with his above the rim finishing and ability to rebound both in, and out of his area. There isn’t a player right now in Indiana’s Class of 2026 that we are buying more stock in than Belcher. The 6’8″ center from Fort Wayne South Side is so incredibly bouncy at the rim. He can catch it inside and elevate to finish over his left shoulder, finish above the rim from the dunker’s spot, and has the ability to go get rebounds outside of his area. There should be scholarship offers to come from various levels for Belcher in the coming months.

Between watching him in the Sectional, and now this past weekend at Best Choice Fieldhouse, we at Prep Hoops Indiana are buying some stock in this 6’7″-6’8″ center from Fort Wayne South Side High School. Playing with LVL Up, Belcher showcased his impressive size, length, and athleticism. He has the upside to be a devastating interior defender and can rebound outside of his area. Belcher should be on college coaches lists heading into this summer.

It was a bit of a slow start for this talented junior front court prospect, but Belcher really turned it on in the second half. He is an aggressive offensive player with more face-up skill than we may have been aware of before Friday night’s contest. At 6’7″-6’8″, Belcher has the positional size and length to play on the block and is a bouncy rim protector defensively. However, on the offensive end, he looked just as comfortable as a face-up scoring including sliding out to the corner to knock down a catch-and-shoot three-point shot. He finished with 14 points.

Belcher may have the most long-term potential out of any player in the Fort Wayne area. At 6’8, he is a shot blocker on the defensive end and can score well through contact on the offensive end. Had a real strong summer playing for Indy Heat Red and showed flashes of that upside. You can teach his size and if those skills continue to grow, look out.

Belcher had an excellent freshman season at South Side as he burst onto the scene averaging 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. The 6’7″ big man plays above the rim on both ends of the floor and flashes some real athletic upside as a bigger guy around the basket.
