Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the shiftiest point guards in the state of Ohio, Williams was getting busy in the second 5 on 5 game of the day with some tough buckets off isolation moves. Nobody could really keep Williams from getting to the paint and his change of speed on the ball is difficult for defenders to stay in front of. Williams best move of the day came on a drive where he hit a reverse pivot that had the defender lost as he hit the easy fallaway shot. Garfield Heights has a storied tradition of talented guard play and Williams is helping keep that tradition.

One of the more talented scoring guards in the 2028 class in Ohio, Williams has the ability to knock down perimeter shots and score off the pick and roll by getting downhill or pulling up in a defenders face. With natural ball handling ability to change speeds and directions, Williams is tough to stay in front of at the point of attack. To close the game Williams knocked down a handful of free throws to ice the game and secure the victory. Williams could be a breakout star in the Cleveland area this winter and is making noise on the 3SSB circuit already at the 15 U level.

A player who got more and more minutes at the varsity level as the year went on, Williams showed really impressive flashes as a ball handler and defender for a freshman. Advanced with the ball in his hands, Williams has some slick highlights where he breaks the defender down and gets to the rim. His frame and athleticism also gives him defensive upside on and off the ball. I’ll be excited to continue to watch Williams grow and develop this summer as he could be a featured option for Garfield Heights next season.

One of the more talented 2028 point guards in northeast Ohio, Williams had a big game off the bench for the Bulldogs. A poised guard for his age, Williams made a couple plays off the dribble to either score for himself or set a teammate up. Williams also displays soft touch on layups and floaters at the rim. Expect to hear a lot more about Williams over the next few years as he continues to grow and mature as a player, lots of upside!
