It was a big night of high school basketball and today we give you all of the important results from the evening.

4AAAA Sauk Rapids-Rice at 7AAAA STMA

Prediction. WRONG. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] had a take notice game scoring 31 points in the paint dominating the action in a match-up of top ten teams. Thelen was very physical in the paint, too physical for the Storm to deal with and he did it with a scoring touch. [player_tooltip player_id='1586882' first='Jeremiah' last='Johnson'] had 23 in addition to the Thelen 31.

8AAA Stewartville at 7AAA Byron

Prediction. Correct. For more information on this game read our report here.... https://prephoops.com/2025/01/byron-73-stewartville-56-five-things-to-know/

10AAA Mound-Westonka at 5AAA Orono

Prediction. Correct. Orono actually won this game by 25 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1579885' first='Nolan' last='Groves'] had 20 points and six assists, [player_tooltip player_id='1484016' first='Brady' last='Wooley'] had 10 and 13 for a double-double, and Orono was up 18 by half. Mitchell Kauch had 14 points and nine assists as well (I didn't scroll down far enough to see that the first time around).

3AAAA Wayzata at Chaska

Prediction. Correct. BUT, I didn't expect this to be a six point game based on recent results and it was a blowout early with Wayzata up 50-29 at the break. [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'] led the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] with 22 points.

3AA Breck at 6AA Blake

Prediction. Correct. Breck won by 13 but not the predicted three points. This is all I can give you, no box score or results were posted or sent anywhere.

I Saw It On Twitter!

Blaine beat Osseo 81-57 and they were led by the 32 points of 6'1 junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1874931' first='Shiloh' last='Ayitey']. Shiloh had four threes made and four steals in the win. Shiloh is scoring 17.5 points a game for a Blaine team that has surprised at 4-5 on the season.

Braham improved to 8-2 on the season led by junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2369272' first='Tyler' last='Eklund'] who put up 28 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in a win over Pine City 74-66. Tyler is averaging 29 points a game.

Clutch play of the night? One of them came from [player_tooltip player_id='1560747' first='Alex' last='Schroepfer'] who hit the foul shots at the end of the game so Eagan could beat Rosemount.

I think one really key result of note is Rockford improving to 10-0 with a 17 point win over Annandale. We/I need to start watching the Rockets a bit closer. [player_tooltip player_id='2445445' first='Braden' last='Blanchard'] led Rockford with 25 points.

Upset of the Night

Lakeville South beating 5th ranked one loss Prior Lake was a key result to know. The Cougars limited [player_tooltip player_id='1434127' first='Norbu' last='Jenpa'] to nine points and senior [player_tooltip player_id='2406398' first='Malachi' last='Gant'] led a balanced effort scoring 16 points.
