<p>On Saturday, January 25th, Men's x Mental hosted a showcase at the Jersey Shore at Red Bank Regional High School with matchups of some of the better Shore programs. Saturday's action consisted of matchups between Ranney and Red Bank Regional, Christian Brothers Academy and Red Bank Regional, and St. Rose and Union Catholic. Let's take a look at some guys, in the backcourt, that stood out over the course of Saturday's action. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Finishing the game with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, Shaan Nayar did a good job of setting the table for Ranney's offense. Nayar did a good job of getting in the paint and making plays for himself, finishing around the basket as well as for his teammates. Nayar also rebounded the ball well for his position. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2763429' first='Justin' last='Buck']'s perimeter shooting ability was on full display for Ranney as he knocked down 3 threes from deep against Red Bank Catholic. The sharpshooter was able to knock down a couple in transition, getting to the wing and being shot ready before the defense was able to get set. Buck was also able to rebound well for his position as he finished the game with 11 rebounds to go along with his 11 points.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Knocking down three threes throughout the course of this game against Ranney, Sean Saxton showcased what he's capable of as a perimeter shooter. Saxton did a good job of hunting his shot in the half court as he seemed ready to shoot almost every time the ball reversed to him. Saxton also did a very good job rebounding for his position and contributing on the glass for Red Bank Catholic. Saxton finished the game with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">James Hankowski's ability to shoot it from the perimeter, particularly off the catch, helped propel Red Bank Catholic to a victory over Ranney. Hankowksi's 4 made threes were reflective of his ability to not only hunt his shot in the corner but also his ability to be patient in Red Bank Catholic's offense and wait for the ball to reverse to him. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Ryan Fisher shined not only in the way he was able to be effective off the ball and but also in the way he was able to play within himself in Red Bank Regional's offense. Off the catch, Fisher was able to knock down a pair of triples and showcase his abilities as a shooter. Fisher was also able to get a couple of trips to the free throw line. Fisher finished the game with 15 points. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Shouldering most of the offensive responsibilities for Red Bank Regional, Zayier Dean showcased his ability to put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways. Dean showcased his ability to shoot it from the perimeter, both off the catch and off the dribble, knocking down three big threes against Christian Brothers Academy. Dean also showcased his ability to get in the paint and finish around the rim, make plays for others, and get his teammates more involved.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Bryan Ebeling shined in his ability to make shots within the flow of St. Rose's offense. Ebeling was able to get going knocking down a couple shots from three point range as well as attack the basket on dribble drives and finish around the basket. Ebeling finished the game with 12 points and 5 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Finishing the game with 19 points and 6 assists, AJ Altobelli did a good job of playing with poise and setting the table for Union Catholic's offense. Altobelli did a good job of getting in the paint and finishing through contact and around defenders at the basket as well as finishing plays at the rim in transition. Altobelli's ability to get in the paint and kick out to shooters also opened opportunities for his teammates to get involved. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Malik Moore showcased his ability to play within the flow of Union Catholic's offense and be effective off the ball. Knocking down a pair of triples from the perimeter, Moore displayed his shooting ability. Moore was also able to finish at the rim as well as knocked down a pair of free throws from the charity stripe. Moore was also able to use his size to rebound well for his position. Moore finished the game with 10 points and 10 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">An optimal off ball threat, Luke Schorr showcased his ability to shoot it from three point range, as he knocked down a pair of three pointers throughout the course of this game against St. Rose. Schorr also hit a pair of big free throws in overtime to give Union Catholic the lead down the stretch. Schorr finished the game with 10 points for Union Catholic. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Finishing the game with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, Jayden Hodge showcased his ability to score the basketball in a multitude of ways, both on and off the ball. On the ball, Hodge was able to get in the paint and finish at the rim as well as show good touch on his floater. Off the ball, Hodge showcased his ability to shoot it off the catch from perimeter, knocking down a pair from three point range. </p>
