Massaquoi had a very nice showing in both his performances. I really liked watching the way he used his offensive prowess to create advantages for his team. He would get the ball and get himself into scoring position, make a read and hit the right teammate to either finish or set up the next pass for the basket (hockey assist). Did this time and time again each game, both from the post and from the perimeter. Playmaking and decision making was on full display for the senior anomaly, who guarded the opponents biggest player while still maintaining control of the offense on the other end. He scored when it was necessary, didn't have to force shots because he opened up the floor for his teammates early. He was able to conduct his normal offensive damage to the opposition once the game called for his scoring, bodying smaller defenders and finishing strong at the basket through contact. Another stock-rising showing from the uncommitted combo.

Tatum was a consistent source of offense for Mt. Carmel during the first half of their win. Had a nice stretch of plays where he knocked down a 3, and converted a tough and-1 finish next to help swing momentum. He played some very good on-ball defense on a number of possessions against a team with high-level guard play. Had a very steady overall game for the team in a formidable win. Hit his open shots and played tough individual defense.

Traylor was getting all that he wanted on the offensive end. His jumpshot is cash whether open or facing the closeout. Confidence remains the same no matter the situation, which makes for a quite lethal scorer. Traylor was hitting pull-ups right over top of the defense in the midrange all 2nd half, and saw a lot more threes go down as the game progressed as well. There was nothing Traylor wasn't capable of pulling off in efforts to score. He'll get after it defensively as well, had a few very good stops by moving his feet and causing the ball handler to fumble. Traylor came to the DMV and showcased every bit of why he's high in the 2025 ranks.

Sinan was dominate in his game against Archbishop Wood, particularly in the second half. He was highly effective scoring at all 3 levels. Huan impressed me most with his perimeter game and the way he was able to get to the basket from the top of the key. He had enough handle to get by his defender, and gathered himself well to finish at the rim through traffic. In the closing half of the game, Huan unleashed his soft shooting touch, draining a handful of jumpshots at the top of the arc, midrange and beyond. Huan timed up a few blocks on the defensive end as well. Huge performance from the 7-footer.

Big offensive performances from the Good Counsel transfer as they opened their season this weekend. Clear leader on the floor for the young team, and they look to him to move forward. He can score from any spot on the floor, showcased his ability to get by defenses and get off a shot that he likes. Smooth jumper that he can pull off the dribble well, and added some nice floaters in-between. Nice scoring output from the sophomore.

What I noticed first is DJ defending at a very high level. Picking up ball switches, causing loose balls, and cutting off ball handlers, forcing many steals and deflections. Off his defense, Lee started to get his offense flowing. Started with some fastbreak layups off his steals, then mixed in some three-pointers as the game reached the later stages. DJ was a defensive menace all game long and he and his team reaped the benefits.

[player_tooltip player_id='2623334' first='Lane' last='Mahan'] looks very good filling in for the injury-riddled Tentley Tiger squad right now. The young prospect knows where to be on the floor and his teammates reward him when he's open. Drained multiple catch-and-shoot 3's even after starting off a bit cold. Spaced the floor well and has great instinct, crashed the offensive glass consistently and kept multiple plays alive for the team. Another promising showing from the young forward, who's making efficient use of his increased role/playing time.
