Big Early Outings from Two Guards in the 2025 Class

[player_tooltip player_id='1774476' first='Jordan' last='Patterson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2093827' first='Caiden' last='Brewer'] are two names in the 2025 class that have proven they were ready to go in 2024-25 so-to speak. Patterson, a Lees-McRae commit, has already put together three 40+ point performances for West Iredell as they're 6-1 on the season. He's averaging 32.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 54 percent from the field through the first month of the high school season. He's a strong-framed guard who's shown he can play at a high level as evidenced by where he's headed next fall.

Brewer, on the other hand, remains a top unsigned senior in the 2025 class in North Carolina. He's a 6-foot-2 point guard at East Henderson High currently averaging 31.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 4.3 steals per game as the Eagles are 7-0 on the young season. He went off for 51 points on 22-of-25 shooting from the floor in a big win over Chase High to start the month of December. He's shooting 61 percent from the field and 36 percent from deep and remains a target for DII and DIII programs in the region to target given his penchant for filling up the stat sheet in a number of ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='1508752' first='Brett' last='Freeman'] making noise with Ardrey Kell

It seems every season, one way or another a prospect from Ardrey Kell High is making their claim on the PH platform. This season, 6-foot-4 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1508752' first='Brett' last='Freeman'] is this year's name to know with the Knights. He's got Ardrey Kell off to a 5-1 start behind production of 27.8 points, 3.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game through six games of action. He's shooting 52 percent from the floor and 41 percent from behind the arc as he's seemingly having a "breakout" senior year so far. He'll be a name for DII and DIII programs in the region to track over the next few weeks as he continues to showcase what he can do.

No Sophomore Slumps in Sight

[player_tooltip player_id='1974219' first='Ja'Von' last='Motta'], [player_tooltip player_id='2415809' first='Sean' last='Nix'], [player_tooltip player_id='2268803' first='Bryce' last='West'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page'] are four prospects who shined brightly on the varsity stage in 2023-24 and they're thriving once again in 2024-25 in their sophomore campaigns. Page is proving why he's a top prospect in the 2027 class in North Carolina with his all-around production. He's sitting at 21.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game as Broughton High continues to improve with him at the helm at 5-2.

Motta is producing 20.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.0 assists per contest on 44 percent shooting from the floor and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range. He's knocked down 25 3-pointers already through seven games including nine behind a 33-point outing against Triton High.

Nix is producing at Cannon School as they're 1-6 and going through a culture change under a new regime. He's averaging 21.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game including 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field in their first victory over Statesville. He's a sizeable guard at 6-foot-3 to keep an eye on given his ability to score and operate in the painted area as a defender.

West has proven to be a solid addition to the Freedom Christian Academy backcourt and perimeter attack as he's knocked down 32 3-pointers through nine games already in 2024-25. He's putting up 21.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game as a top shooting guard prospect in North Carolina's 2027 class.
