Motta will emerge as a premier guard in North Carolina’s stacked 2028 class with 1 of 1 Elite Pro16 16u this summer as he is a poised and savvy PG with size and a truly well rounded game. Motta understands how to control a game with his pace and genuinely embraces his work on the defensive end of the floor. He’s one of the most well rounded PG’s in the 2028 class with his blend of size, skill, feel, and genuine toughness. He dealt with an ankle sprain, missed a handful of possessions, jogged it off and jumped right back in where he resumed total control of the action. He’s the kind of kid you just trust running your team and should help guide this talented group to their fair share of big wins this spring/summer.

Motta has been a consistent producer and winner at Trinity Christian all season long and he does it at both ends of the floor. Trinity Christian has the ability to play super uptmepo or slow it down with this group and they’ve been really successful with it, largely due to Motta’s ability to create offense in different situations. With a 25-4 record on the season, Trinity Christian has themselves locked in as the #7 seed, narrowly missing on the double bye. Motta is averaging 17.0 Points, 4.8 Rebounds, 2.5 Assists, and 2.1 Steals per game. Add in 53/45/76 shooting splits to that equation and it looks like we have a legit full scholarship (at minimum) prospect on our hands. Motta possesses deep range, a ton of confidence, and the ability to make good reads in ball screens, making him a real weapon in those situations. Motta contributes on the glass, maintains high efficiency offensively, and is still developing both physically and with his skillset. Trinity is a real darkhorse to win it all and Motta could really stamp himself even further if he’s able to help them do it.

The leader of the squad from the beginning of the season showed up once again as his team needed him to and was one of the main reasons why they were able to take home the championship. He’s a three-level scorer that is dangerous from the perimeter but has a quick first step that he uses to get into the paint. He didn’t force plays often and did a very nice job controlling the tempo while keeping his turnovers low overall.

Leading the Crusaders to another win and a rematch with Conference foe Fayetteville Academy, he got off to a hot start and would finish with 21 Points on the evening. His ability to knock down shot from outside but also beat players off the dribble are reasons why he can be a difficult player for opponents to defend.

A Combo Guard that is a difficult player to contain when he’s getting downhill, he understands how to use his speed to get easy transitions buckets. His impressive scoring ability allows him to play on or off the ball but we really appreciate how active he can be defensively.

A two-way player that can make a high impact on both sides of the ball, his steals and deflections in the first quarter helped his team get out to a fast start and early lead. He has the ability to play in the half-court or in transition which was on display in their matchup with Hoke County High. He led his team in scoring with 21 Points but also added 7 Rebounds, 5 Assist and 5 Steals.

One of the newer additions to the Trinity Christian team, he is a player that will step in and make a major impact immediately. He can play the PG or SG spots and can be just as effective on both sides of the ball.

Mentality Elite was one of the surprises I saw this weekend on the 2027 side, more so because the majority of their 2028 forwards were playing up and played at least 7 games on the weekend. The reason that didn’t affect the 2027 squad was because of the way Matta scored the ball. Known in the Fayetteville area as one of the top shooters in his class he did not disappoint knocking down shot after shot eventually leading to Team Mentality winning the 16u championship.

Continues to make progress overall as a prospect and has stepped into more of a larger role for his team. He scored the ball at a high rate, from multiple levels, plays the game with confidence and is only going to get better over the next few years.
