MU Team Camp Top Performers: The High Motor Group

Last but not least we take a look at a group of players that impressed simply by how hard they played throughout the day. Some of these players had big time days stat wise but their overall impact on each game can simply not be measured by statistical records.    A solid role player for the Douglas Byrd team, he can make a nice impact on games on both sides of the floor without any plays being designed for him. Plays the game with a very high motor and understands how to use his leaping ability to make plays above the rim while on offense and defense.     Another one of the new additions to the WBHS squad, he made an early impact providing them with a legit threat that they can give the ball to in the post. He battled for rebounds on both sides of the ball, blocked/contested shots, set good screens and logged some of the highest number of minutes of any player we saw.     Only heading into his sophomore season but plays the game with a maturity of an upperclassmen which is something that you don't see very often. He does not hesitate about picking up opponents full-court and causes all types of issues for teams with his constant pressure that forces opponents into turnovers and rushed possessions.     The type of player that takes every matchup personally, he played well throughout the day and was aggressive to score, which his team needed. He has plenty of moves in his arsenal to be effective scoring the ball when placed in one-on-one situations. Solid size for a Guard and has the ability to play through all types of contact.     Although he always brings a high amount of energy and intensity, he remains levelheaded never getting too high or too low. He understands how to run the show while also getting to his own offense when needed. He gets downhill on a regular basis, causing issue for defenders and creating easy offensive opportunities.     The only returning starter from the FA team that made a deep run last season, he understands his role as a team leader as seems to be embracing that role. Rebounding, facilitating, scoring and defending were all things we saw from him as he legitimately has a chance to average close to a triple double this season.     Plays with a different type of edge that you have to love. He doesn't back down from any matchup or challenge and gives effort on both sides of the floor. The dual sport athlete plays the game with a high amount of toughness which seems to be a common theme of the Golden Bulls.     Still a very raw prospect that is finding his way at this point, but you never can question his heart or effort when he steps on the court. He does not hesitate to do any of the small things that his team needs and will be a player to keep a close eye on over the next year as the TCS staff continues to develop his skill.
