Montgomery put on a shot making clinic in his UAA debut for Top Shot 16u this past weekend. He finished the weekend averaging 23.6 Points, 4.3 Rebounds, 3.3 Assists per game with 48/43/90 shooting splits. Montgomery is more than comfortable raising up from distance off the bounce where he’s got deep range and the ability to shake defenders with relative ease. Montgomery also displayed the ability to make plays for his teammates in ball screen situations along with properly executing the sets this Top Shot group runs. He makes good decisions with the ball in transition and genuinely checks a lot of the boxes we need to see from smaller guards. He’s adding strength to his frame and continues to make progress in his overall game. Look for Montgomery to be near the top in scoring averages for the UAA 16u division this travel ball season. Another note, his team went 3-1 this past weekend with Montgomery leading the charge offensively.

Montgomery is coming off of a a year at Queens Grant where he helped lead his team to an NCHSAA 2A State Championship as a Sophomore where he provided a ton of stability in the backcourt with his ability to make shots and help run his team. Montgomery will be running with Top Shot UAA 16u this spring/summer after helping lead that team to a UA Rise 15u championship last year. Montgomery will be ready for the higher level of competition with the circuit upgrade as he plays a style of basketball that genuinely translates level to level. He’s got a great feel for the game and his own abilities which allow him to truly put himself in the right spots. Montgomery can play on or off the ball where he can operate out of ball screens to pull up or find teammates for easy buckets while also being a lethal shooting threat off the catch. Montgomery continues to add strength to his frame to better allow him to play through contact, I fully expect to see him produce at a really quality level and efficiency this spring/summer with Top Shot 16u!

Montgomery is a very talented backcourt prospect at Queens Grant that does a really good job blending his shotmaking and playmaking to provide consistent production for one of NC’s most talented rosters. Over the course of the season, Montgomery is averaging 11.9 Points, 1.7 Rebounds, 2.7 Assists, and 1.4 Steals per game with 43/37/84 shooting splits. Montgomery is coming off of winning a 15u UA Rise title with Top Shot last year and has parlayed that success into even more winning with Queen’s Grant this season. Montgomery has deep range off the bounce + he’s lethal in the catch and shoot. I fully expect the size of Queen’s Grant to get a lot of attention from the Warren County defense, leading to plenty of kick out opportunities for Montgomery to raise up and hit shots. The young PG from the 704 is ready to help his team bring home the grand prize.

making his ability to produce while fitting in even more impressive. Montgomery’s ability to hit off the dribble three’s with his quick release make the spacing for Queens Grant’s offense advantageous towards success. He helps run the offense at a high level and really competes when guarding the ball defensively. Montgomery continues to shape himself into a prospect worth monitoring in NC’s 2028 class.

Montgomery is another freshman prospect to track in the Queens Grant rotation. He makes his debut at 23rd overall and No. 6 at the combo guard spot following a productive regular season. He ranks third on the team in scoring and second in assists per game with 11.0 points, 3.3 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest in 2024-25. He’s a gritty combo guard who sets quite the tone defensively and is relentless in his attack on offense on all three levels. He’s one to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Montgomery is a combo guard to track as Queens Grant High looks to rebuild under head coach Joe Badgett. He’s a guard who looks to force the pressure defensively to find easy looks on the fast break. He was another standout at this year’s The Expo: Carolinas. As he develops and showcases his all-around game over the next few seasons, he’ll be an intriguing combo guard prospect to follow.

Montgomery was another name out of Queens Grant High who stood out. He was a menacing two-way presence who applied full court pressure defensively and was virtually unstoppable no matter who was in front of him. He showed consistency both scoring and distributing the basketball. We’re looking forward to covering his career over the next few seasons.
