Rankings Review: Class of 2028 - Who Would We Rank Top Ten?

While the classes of 2025-2027 are solidly ranked, we are still trying to figure out the class of 2028. There are numerous freshmen on the watch list who are high caliber players. Even though a large number of players to watch have been identified, there are still some left. Knowing that we have some of the better players in the state, we will look at a projected top ten. Better yet, we will preview who we think are the best candidates for the PHLA class of 28 Top 10.    Ford is probably the best prospect in the class right now. He is the most varsity ready prep in the class and he has shown in it. Ford has been one of Ouachita's best players all season. He has been one of the top scorers and best rebounders. No one has outperformed Ford thus far this season.     Burch is probably the best scoring big man in the class. The fact that he is a legitimate back to the basket scorer is a plus. Burch can also run the floor and finish in transition. Those things are positives when we think of the top ten player in the class.     Dantzler is one of the top two point guards in the class. He can get to the hole almost on anyone and finish with either hand. Dantzler has the one dribble pull-up from the mid-range and can stroke it from three. His ability to make good decisions in transition makes him one of the more well equipped players in 2028.       Williams is the best two way player I have seen in the class. He plays defense at a high level for someone who has only been playing varsity since the summer. Williams also rebounds well and scores around the basket. His continued offensive growth will make him a player to watch for the top ten.     Clair is the other top point guard in this class. He can create separation to shoot the jumper and is very good at getting to the rim. Clair can run your offense or play off the ball and be just as effective. He was varsity ready from day one. A little slight in the frame but he has big game.       When it comes to a complete offensive skill set, Stewart has the most extensive one. He is a player who can score from the perimeter or the paint. Stewart can also handle the ball like a guard. He is very talented. Defensively, he can switch onto anyone which helps. Stewart and his extraordinary skill set will have him possibly ranked in the top ten.     Thomas is one of the better shooters I have seen regardless of class. He has an ability to play well off of others and find open spots behind the arc. Thomas has a quick release as well which makes it hard to block. His shooting ability and being over 6 feet are reasons Thomas may be a good top ten candidate.     Sudds is one of the most gifted athletes in the class. His athleticism is off the charts. During his game against Mansfield, there were several possessions where Sudds could have dunked the ball. He is a legitimate 6'4" wing who can attack the rim. Sudds can get the ball off the glass and finish or finish in transition. He is a player who has not tapped into all of his talent.    Ranking the 2028 top ten is very tough. Ranking them will be something done prior to the travel season in April. There are other players that will be a part of this evaluation process. However, these players are some of the more polished freshmen that we have in Louisiana. That makes them perfect candidates for a high ranking going forward.
