Preview for 608 Basketball Tournament Friday/Saturday

The fourth annual 608 Basketball Tournament is set for Friday and Saturday at Madison College with eight boys’ basketball teams taking part in the event.

The schedule includes four schools playing twice in a bracketed format, and four other squads playing just once in Showcase Games.

Here is the schedule for this year’s event:

Friday, December 13
At Madison College
6:30 p.m. — Nicolet (3-1) vs. Oshkosh North (2-1)
8:00 p.m. — Middleton (0-3) vs. Romeoville, Ill. (3-4)

Saturday, December 14
At Madison College
1:30 p.m. — Appleton North (1-1) vs. Verona (3-1)
3:00 p.m. — Consolation Game pitting Friday’s losing teams
4:30 p.m. — Championship Game pitting Friday’s winning teams
6:00 p.m. — Lake Mills (4-0) vs. Mount Horeb (4-0)

Nicolet vs. Oshkosh North — It will be the speed and quickness of the Nicolet backcourt against the size and strength of the Oshkosh North frontcourt. Nicolet guards Rashaad Davis Rashaad Davis 5'11" | PG Nicolet | 2026 State WI and David Bolden David Bolden 6'0" | PG Nicolet | 2025 State WI are both outstanding and compete with toughness and grit. Both players have extensive varsity experience and can take their game to another level in highly competitive situations. Oshkosh North is led by seniors Xzavion Mitchell Xzavion Mitchell 6'7" | SF Oshkosh North | 2025 State #119 Nation WI and Stefan Stojilovic Stefan Stojilovic 6'7" | SF Oshkosh North | 2025 State WI . Mitchell can hurt opponents in every way possible and will be a tough matchup for Nicolet while Stojilovic is one of the state’s most improved class of 2025 prospects and can make shots from outside the three-point arc.

Middleton vs. Romeoville — Middleton remains without University of Wisconsin recruit Will Garlock Will Garlock 6'11" | C Middleton | 2025 State #204 Nation WI , who is sidelined with a foot injury. His status for the 608 Tournament is unknown, but he has yet to play this season for the Cardinals. That will leave the heavy lifting to senior Marquise Walker Marquise Walker 6'3" | SG/PG Middleton | 2025 State WI , a 6-foot-4 guard who gets to the basket and the foul line. Romeoville competes in the Eastern Division of the Southwest Prairie Conference and plays a strong schedule so it should be prepared to play a team like Middleton.

Appleton North vs. Verona — Two teams expecting to contend for conference championships with Appleton North in the 10-team Fox Valley Association and Verona in the 10-team Big Eight Conference. Appleton North has a strong junior class led by Grant Hardy Grant Hardy 6'4" | SF/SG Appleton North | 2026 State WI , Nathan Ramus Nathan Ramus 6'2" | PG/SG Appleton North | 2026 State WI and Will Sweeney Will Sweeney 5'10" | PG Appleton North | 2026 State WI . Athletic senior wing Abraham Tomori Abraham Tomori 6'3" | SF Appleton North | 2025 State WI also is a key player for the Lightning. Verona has an experienced senior class led by Northern Michigan recruit Drew Murphy Drew Murphy 6'5" | SF Verona | 2025 State WI along with senior classmates Cameron Williams Cameron Williams 6'3" | CG Verona Area | 2025 State WI and point guard Bennett Buss Bennett Buss 5'9" | PG Verona | 2025 State WI . This should be a very entertaining game pitting two really strong WIAA Division 1 opponents against each other.

Mount Horeb vs. Lake Mills — Two of the very best teams in the greater Madison area going at each other with Division 3 Lake Mills out of the Capitol North Conference meeting Division 2 Mount Horeb of the Badger Small Conference. Look for Lake Mills to use both AJ Bender AJ Bender 6'3" | CG Lake Mills | 2025 State WI and Collin Wollin at times to guard high-scoring Mount Horeb wing Josh Manchester Josh Manchester 6'4" | SG Mount Horeb | 2026 State WI . Bender and Wollin have the size, length and mobility to stick with Manchester, who can drop shots from well beyond the three-point arc. Lake Mills has a sniper of its own in junior Brady Benish Brady Benish 6'0" | SG Lake Mills | 2026 State WI . Like the Appleton North vs. Verona contest, the Mount Horeb vs. Lake Mills tilt could very well be a matchup of league winners once the regular season is complete in late February.
