It is almost time to tip-off the Indiana High School Basketball season. We've been rolling for two weeks now with preview content here at Prep Hoops Indiana. From class-by-class previews, preseason polls, Indiana All-Star predictions, and much more we have prepared you for the season as only we can. Now, before games begin on Monday, let's highlight some of the leading Mr. Basketball candidates prior to the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe']

The two-time defending Indianapolis City Player of the Year certainly has the career resume to be a strong candidate for the state's top award. Briscoe, a 6'9" forward at Crispus Attucks High School, is a dominant force on both ends of the floor. Last season Briscoe averaged 14.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks per game. If he can lead Crispus Attucks to a Class 3A State Championship it won't be surprising to see his name on some ballots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1525663' first='Brady' last='Koehler']

Cathedral begins the season ranked #1 in our Prep Hoops Indiana Preseason Class 3A Top 10. Koehler, a 6'9" forward heading to play at Notre Dame, broke out as a junior averaging 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game for the Fighting Irish. His unique combination of athleticism and size makes him one of the highest upside prospects in Indiana's Class of 2025. If Koehler puts up big numbers for a Class 3A State Championship team he will find himself in the conversation for Mr. Basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins']

It is no secret that the Indiana Mr. Basketball award is [player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins']' to lose. The UConn signee averaged 25.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.2 steals per game while shooting over 40% from three-point range. Mullins led his team to 24 consecutive victories last season before facing major back issues that limited him the Sectional Championship game against New Palestine. He will be on a mission to deliver a Sectional title to Greenfield this season and barring something unforseen should end the season as Indiana's Mr. Basketball award winner.

[player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson']

Robinson experienced the most postseason success of these players last season leading Lawrence North to a Semi-State appearance. If they can take the next step to Gainbridge Fieldhouse this time around he will certainly be in consideration for the state's top award. The Butler bound point guard averaged 19.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game as a junior.

Other Names to Know

[player_tooltip player_id='1297068' first='Julius' last='Gizzi'] (New Palestine H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1388408' first='Tre' last='Singleton'] (Jeffersonville H.S. 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery'] (Ben Davis H.S. 2025)
