Paul VI-Mt. Carmel Scrimmage Report Pt.2

Take in-depth report on the nationally ranked Paul VI Catholic first scrimmage of the year.    Uber bouncy wing man can flat out attack the rim off the dribble and create highlight dunks! Starting to balance the big finishes with a solid jumper to go with athletic gifts, solid handle and ability to see the pass and dominate on the defensive end. Jordan ability to play the PG positon is starting to gain steam. A legit Top 10 prospect in the class of 2026 nationally.     At 6-foot-7, Moore is fluid, skilled, and already possesses natural feel on both ends of the floor. He didn't necessarily need to make a ton of plays with the ball in his hands yet seemed to capitalize every time he had the opportunity. Moore positions himself well on offense, displaying an understanding of how to move without the ball without interrupting the action.     Hunter is a prospect that displays versatility through his ability to create, knock down shots, and attack off the bounce. He finishes nicely around the basket and sees the floor well as a passer. Jordan plays hard and utilizes his body effectively to defend multiple positions and outwork opponents for rebounds.     Next, we look at a player who can carve out a useful role with any collection of teammates, Derek Daniels. He's a powerful, undersize athletic forward/post prospect with a high motor and willingness to do whatever it takes to provide his team with an edge. Daniels excels as a low-maintenance piece who can finish with authority. He makes hustle plays, battles on the glass, and outworks opponents defensively. Daniels moves extremely well without the ball to find open seams within the defense. Would like to see him be more offensive minded to reach his full potential.     Next, we look at a player who understands how to produce in a variety of different roles, Lawrence “Tank” Brown. He's a smart, unselfish guard prospect who can initiate the offense, create off the bounce, or thrive as a spot-up threat. Brown handles the ball with poise and sees the floor well as a passer. He can finish or pull up from midrange using his strength to play through contact. On the other end, he's a solid defender who plays hard and battles for extra opportunities.       It's easy to see the steady improvement from Mena. In addition to his game continuing to expand, his body also looks better with each viewing. Mena moves nicely for his size and utilizes his length well to disrupt opponents defensively. He competes on the glass, positions himself to finish around the basket, and runs the floor effectively in transition. Mena is a useful defensive anchor with solid timing as a shot-blocker.     Despite some ups and downs as a team, Aaron continues to show what ultimately makes him an x-factor for this team. His poise and pace stood out in the Mt. Carmel scrimmage. He's still developing as a point guard but displayed solid balance between scoring and playmaking in this contest. Aaron is a smooth creator who looks to make the right play with the ball in his hands. He understands how to break down defenses and pick his spots or set up others. Aaron possesses a crafty handle and scoring arsenal. Expect his stock to grow as the season continues. Potential Top Freshman PG on a national level.     A smart, crafty young guard-forward prospect plays with a lot of toughness on both ends of the floor. Aiden is a dynamic athlete with the necessary quickness to consistently break down opponents off the dribble. Plays big for a 6-2 prospect. He's able to create for others or mix up his approach from all three levels. Aiden possesses solid instincts defensively and has clear upside on that end of the floor. Next in his development process is working on his awareness as an off-ball defender and overall offensive perimeter skill set, as it would make him a more complete player and contributor for the Paul VI Catholic program soon.     Lets take a look at a combo guard that does a little bit of everything on the court, Andrew. is a smart, well-rounded guard prospect with a great combination of size, skill, and athleticism. Andrew can handle the ball as needed but is arguably at his best when applying pressure as a spot-up threat. He plays hard to regularly outwork opponents for rebounds and loose balls. Andrew also moves very well without the ball. Next, in his development process is working on getting stronger. Andrew is a crafty guard with great size for his position. Shoots it well from beyond the arc and can finish over smaller defenders at a high level. Good finisher through traffic or contact. He can work on his overall ball-handling and being able to operate from the point guard spot when needed. Ross's on-ball defense can also improve.
