About Jacob
Expert Analysis
Van Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
The skilled glue guy for Paul VI WCAC Champions, was instrumental to the success of the Panthers this year. Jacob proved to be a versatile defender, good mid-range shooter and sound ball handler and passer. Jacob affects the game on the glass, blocking shots, and defending in the paint using his length (Growth spurt to 6-8 legit). His unassuming approach to the game is tough for opposing players to match. He attacks well, takes what is given to him, scores effectively, and plays with such a smart overall feel. Jacob just knows how to play the game. Will be major contributor to a D1 program that’s looking for a great student and solid basketball prospect. Then Jacob is your GUY!

In games like this, you will need players who give you everything they have when it comes to doing the little things.

gave that today. Jacob knocked down a three early and spent the rest of the game all over the glass. He attacked misses and had a handful of offensive boards. At 6’8 when you put out the effort Jacob did you’ll be a factor in a game one way or another. Jacob had 9 rebounds, 6 of which were offensive.

-Moore’s feel as an off-ball mover and passer in the halfcourt has improved by leaps and bounds this season, with the senior forward finding ways to impact the game in ways that don’t always reflect in the stat sheet. Moore is serving as a great connector off the bench, passing out of difficult catch-and-finish angles around the basket to hit a streaking cutter or kick out to an open shooter for a good look at the basket. His footspeed has quickened and he often earns extended playing time with the boost he gives the Panthers off the bench as a do-it-all W/F prospect. Came up with 2 huge offensive rebounds in traffic to extend PVI possessions to lead to eventual scores in the halfcourt that stopped the home Lions from continuing a run in the 4Q to put the game away for his team

At 6-foot-7, Moore is fluid, skilled, and already possesses natural feel on both ends of the floor. He didn’t necessarily need to make a ton of plays with the ball in his hands yet seemed to capitalize every time he had the opportunity. Moore positions himself well on offense, displaying an understanding of how to move without the ball without interrupting the action.

will be an interesting guy to watch this year for PVI. It’s well known Jacob has sat behind blue-chip talent over the past few years, so this year he has a terrific chance to carve out a role. Jacob will fit into this team defensively with his length and versatility. Jacob is a good passer and does a great job attacking the rim. Jacob can play multiple positions and does everything well. This will be a big year for Jacob. He could go from being slightly under-recruited to being a sought-after prospect.

I watched a lot of PVI over the past few years, and with the slew of national talent they have, many talented guys don’t see much playing time.

is an excellent example of that, and with a good summer, I could see him getting minutes following most of their rotation leaving. Jacob is a good driver and has good length. He is an active and intelligent defender. If Jacob develops a reliable three-point shot, he will be a riser. I have yet to see him play much because of his situation with PVI, but I want to see him this weekend.

Jacob has continued to flourish as young developing forward and each time I have watched him, he is one that brings a lot of intrigue to his game. Whether it is his size, his fluidity, his ability to create and make plays from multiple levels, and his overall comfort level from an array of areas on the court, Jacob brings a lot to the table. And again, he is just starting his story. Sound overall play in transition, on the glass, and showed throughout the regular in mob up playing time. He has showed the skillset for his name to worth monitoring this spring and summer. Will be running with Team Takeover National 17U Team.

– Prototypical wing, strong slasher with good feel that knows where to be at both ends of the floor. Can finesse his way to the rim but usually utilizes his size and frame to slash to the rim. Range has extended comfortably out to 18 feet, with the touch and form to indicate long-term shooting upside.
