Minnesota High School Basketball: Top Week One Games

That would be Hermantown versus Proctor at 5:30pm this Wednesday! A good chance to see how [player_tooltip player_id='2466467' first='Lance' last='Janson'] kicks off his season as he is a 6'7 junior forward to watch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>First Metro games of the season</strong>! Also Wednesday, STMA and Rogers play a game that matters in sectional seeding just nine days after the start of practice! Gutsy. Rogers, who won section 8AAAA last year, hosts STMA who is a team that I think has big expectations this year with their senior guard combo, group of workers, and [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] up front. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I checked another schedule and I see Osseo is at Hopkins this Wednesday as well. That's an Osseo team with a lot of new players heading in to face that [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1574212' first='Anthony' last='Smith'] guard combo surrounded by good wings and some new size that will give them depth. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Black Friday Specials</strong>. If you aren't shopping, or watching the Gophers (football and basketball) or watching college football or the NFL, there are five games being played and four of them are apart of holiday tournaments:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Red Wing Thanksgiving Tournament</em>: PEM vs Mayer Lutheran at 1pm and Randolph vs Red Wing to follow</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Sleepy Eye Tip Off</em>: Murray County Central vs SESM at 6pm followed by TMB vs Sleepy Eye.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Saturday Match-Ups</strong>. There are 19 games this Saturday with the earliest tip off coming at the Sleepy Eye Tip Off at 11am. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Columbia Heights at South St. Paul at 1pm is an interesting game as in Princeton at Hermantown as Hermantown aims to have two games in before most play their first the following week!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>STMA is thinking just like Hermantown as they are at Bemidji Saturday afternoon while the Bridge Tusler era begins with Delano at Monticello at 2pm.
