We review a great Tuesday of basketball that included [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] breaking even more records!

Edina at Hopkins

Prediction. CORRECT. The Royals knocked off Edina 74-54 led by the 11 points, ten assists and six rebounds from [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] and the 21 points and ten rebounds from [player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'].

Moore is now the all time leading scorer at Hopkins (2,207 points), the all time leader in rebounds (1,074), the all time leader in steals (445), and the all time leader in assists (1,229). Moore, who is headed to North Dakota next year, is eyeing the state tournament of course but there is another accomplishment Jayden likely has his eyes on.... the state assist record.

The record is currently held by Mark Heiman, a player from Ely that broke the record of Cody Schilling back in 2014. Jayden is currently 46 assists from breaking the state record and he has at least ten games left to play in his high school career. Averaging just under ten assists a contest it's a safe bet that Jayden will break the record. Based on his average I would look at the Minnetonka game on February 12th as the big night.

Speaking of records, Ken Novak Jr is at 1,004 career wins and the Bob McDonald record is 1,012. So it's eight games to tie, nine games to break it, and Hopkins has ten games left on the schedule at least (section semis would be 11, section final would be 12). It's a beast of a schedule with six ranked teams listed in the next nine games.

1AAAA Tartan at South St. Paul

Prediction. CORRECT. But.... I was thinking that I should pry be respectful of SSP so I said 18, and I could have said 28 points for a margin and still be off. Tartan won 92-59 led by 20 points each from [player_tooltip player_id='2560499' first='Kevin' last='Wilson Jr.'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2465512' first='Duke' last='King']

4AAAA Maple Grove at 9AAAA Eden Prairie

Prediction. CORRECT. But.... this was not a close game, and I said Crimson by eight. They were one score from a running team game at one point before winning by 18 in the end. We featured this game in another article on the front page.

4AAA Northfield at Rochester Mayo

Prediction. LOST. LOL. I forgot to predict a winner yesterday dang it. Mayo won 68-53 led by [player_tooltip player_id='2133222' first='Elliot' last='Myszkowski'] who scored 22 points and Mayo is now the top dog in the Big Nine on top of the standings.

3AA Goodhue at 9AA Cannon Falls

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Goodhue by six, they won 81-69. [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] had a "don't forget about me for Mr. Basketball top ten" performance hitting four threes and scoring 30 points in a big section and league win.

Lakeville South at Farmington

Prediction. WRONG, but CORRECT too. Like I told you, if I pick Lakeville South to win, they lose. And if I pick Lakeville South to lose, they win. I said Tigers by four, it was Cougars by 15 points for the win. South had five guys in double figures led by [player_tooltip player_id='1560830' first='Casey' last='Fliehe'] scoring 15.

10AA Holy Family at 5AA Southwest Christian

Prediction. WRONG. I picked the Stars but the star flamed out as the Fire won 97-88. [player_tooltip player_id='2140617' first='Geno' last='Ward'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560786' first='Lexyn' last='Grof'] each scored 24 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1213758' first='Andrew' last='Coleman'] had 23. [player_tooltip player_id='2845973' first='Jack' last='Burke'] led the Stars with 23.

St. Cloud Apollo at 10AAA Sartell

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Sartell by five, they won by three (67-64). [player_tooltip player_id='1560795' first='Maddox' last='Lewis'] had 31 points including back to back to back triples that seemed to sway the game the Sabers way. Sartell is still undefeated against 8AAA opponents.

St. Cloud Cathedral at 4AA Pequot Lakes

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Pequot Lakes by 13, they won by 21.
