Do we have any Nate Dahl Rule options this year for the Mr. Basketball Top Ten that comes out in about five weeks? Let's have a look at that long, long list of Snubs once again.

Before we get there though.....what is the Nate Dahl rule? Nate was not included on the Mr. Basketball Watch List a few years ago but played his way onto the top ten with an incredible senior year at Buffalo.

Could we see a non watch list player get there? I don't think so. I think right now there is a very clear top ten of [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560740' first='Dothan' last='Ijadimbola'], [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560851' first='Hamze' last='Yusuf'], [player_tooltip player_id='2119578' first='Pierce' last='Petersohn'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560868' first='Joseph' last='Mitchell III'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2121332' first='Deron' last='Russell'].

But if one of those players gets hurt or has a rough end to the season, who could Nate Dahl Rule there way right into a spot? These are the names and what they have done since the list came out nine days ago.

[player_tooltip player_id='2465510' first='Mark' last='Graff'] of Mahtomedi. Graff and the Zephyrs are crushing teams right now (Simley and Hastings in the past week) and Graff combined to score 36 points in those two games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2119642' first='Avery' last='Christensen'] of Willmar. Avery had 28 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the loss to Alexandria and it sounds like he was the best player on the floor despite his team losing the game. he then had 17 points, six boards and eight assists in a win over Marshall, and then had 22 points and six boards in a bad loss to Fergus Falls last night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874931' first='Shiloh' last='Ayitey'] of Blaine.Since the last came out Blaine has lost their first two games of the season and Shiloh has been held under his average in all three games played.

[player_tooltip player_id='1628768' first='Connor' last='Duden'] of Red Lake County. Has his team undefeated with three more wins scoring 65 points total in those recent three wins.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560865' first='Nolan' last='Myren'] of Spring Lake Park. Myren has had games of 34 points against Blaine, and 22 against Elk River in the last week. The 34 was going head to head with Shiloh.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560835' first='Tian' last='Chatman'] of Totino-Grace. Chatman has been playing really good basketball as he scored 26 last night to beat Armstrong and scored 18 before taking an early seat in a blowout over Coon Rapids

[player_tooltip player_id='1560798' first='Lucas' last='Gustafson'] of Mankato East. Lucas had 27 points, five boards and five assists last night to beat the Falcons and he scored 23 to beat Westonka late last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560795' first='Maddox' last='Lewis'] of Sartell. Lewis scored 21 in a win over Bemidji last week and had 31 with five threes last night in a huge section/conference win over Apollo. A run of back to back to back threes that changed the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560747' first='Alex' last='Schroepfer'] of Eagan. The Cats have lost seven of their last nine games but Alex is still doing everything with games of 17/6/3 and 18/8/7 in the past week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1521424' first='Kayden' last='Oakland'] of Northfield. Kayden is also doing a lot of everything. He had a 24/8/5 game to beat Owatonna and a 17/12/6 game against Mankato East in a big victory.

Final thoughts. Who would be the most likely guy to get in with the Nate Dahl Rule? The best chance would be [player_tooltip player_id='1521424' first='Kayden' last='Oakland'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560835' first='Tian' last='Chatman'] or maybe [player_tooltip player_id='2119642' first='Avery' last='Christensen'] based on recent results but I don't think any of these guys will over take that top ten we mentioned earlier.

That said, when you compare several of the names here and what they are doing to what several from the watch list are doing in yesterday's article, I do feel bad for at least seven of these guys. Many should be able to put "Mr. Basketball Watch List" on their college hoops bio.
