For the second straight season Eagan graduates a lot of their biggest contributors, but that doesn't mean there's nothing back. The team features a strong 2026 group, including sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='1552751' first='Michael' last='McKenzie']. He helped lead his team past Minnetonka on Sunday, knocking down a handful of deep jumpers in the second half. McKenzie has range extending to well beyond the arc, and no shortage of confidence to take a shot when he gets into pockets of space. Someone that can quickly turn the tides of a game by knocking down a few 3's in quick succession.

Johnson loses a talented backcourt duo from last season, but they might be even deeper this year, as they have a number of guards that can step up on any given night. In a win over Faribault on Sunday I really liked the way that Tyrel was getting up and pressuring the ball. He has exceptional lateral quickness, and his motor never seemed to stop as he was constantly forcing mistakes with his energetic defense. From there he could fly up the floor for transition buckets, showing the bounce and body control to hang in the air for some crafty finishes.

I really like how Spencer has put in the work to become more than just a shooter. He's starting to take advantage of his size at 6'6+, and it's helping him produce on both ends of the floor. He provides a strong rebounding presence inside, blocked a handful of shots across the two games I watched, and his ability to move his feet to defend at that size helped to cut off driving lanes. Offensively he was scrapping for second chance buckets, and was scoring efficiently with the chances he got. Spencer played a key role in the 2-0 day for Sauk Rapids-Rice.

BSM didn't have [player_tooltip player_id='1572689' first='Jalen' last='Wilson'] on Sunday, but still managed to win comfortably over Mankato East. A big reason why was the slashing ability of TJ Stuttley. At 6'4-6'5 he has a strong and explosive frame, and excels at getting to the rack and finishing through contact. Mankato East just didn't have someone with the combination of size and agility to contain him, and it allowed him to consistently get into the lane for high percentage looks.

Wesley is another player we could see stepping into a bigger role at Eagan this winter. He attacks the basket so hard, and is fearless going up and finish against size. In the two games I watched he did a great job of drawing contact to earn trips to the free throw line, and showcased some explosive athleticism to rise up and finish in traffic. Should offer some defensive versatility as well as an athletic 6'3 wing.

Despite coming up just short to Eagan, Isa had a monster game keeping things close the entire way. Playing in a loaded backcourt last year, Isa is now the go-to player for the reigning state champs, and on Sunday showed he can take a game over as a scorer or facilitator. He plays with excellent pace with the ball in his hands, just floating on the perimeter and then exploding to get into the lane to make plays. Can deliver the flashy pass to one of his bigs, or find a kick-out to an open shooter on the perimeter. Despite his smaller stature he excels at finding ways to finish around defenders at the rim, and knocked down a handful of threes in the game I watched. El-Amin looks to be in for a big senior season.

Izayah has been establishing himself as one of the best wings in the 2027 class, and showed why in a pair of wins on Sunday. Once he got into a rhythm, there wasn't much defenders could do to stop him. He looks the part of a true three-level scorer, as he showcased an impressive pull-up jumper from mid-range, the ability to hit threes off the catch, and Izayah also utilized his 6'5 frame to finish through contact inside. His ability to break defenders down and create his own shots off the dribble is something you don't see much out of young players his size, and he's showing the potential to develop into a lethal scorer down the road.
