The Archbishop Ryan vs Samuel Fels was the first game of the day at The Post & Pivot Champions Challenge. This game was a battle at the foul line with each team making frequent trips to the charity stripe. Ryan was able to outlast Fels 69-67.

Hughes thrived scoring in the mid-range with his jump shot. He finished with 20 points. He was active on the boards and had no problems running the floor in the flow of the game. He is a mismatch to opposing teams because he can stretch defenses with shooting and can finish inside. He is able to guard multiple positions due to his size and length.

Stone had no problem doing the dirty work for his team and was really aggressive on the glass battling to get positions to secure rebounds. He was really unselfish finding his teammates in the right spots on the floor. He also found his way to score and converted attempts from the foul line. He didn't need to show his scoring to have a positive impact in the game. Stone uses his strength to bully smaller opponents who try to guard him.

Franklin played very aggressive sparked Ryan early with a handful of baskets. He made his presence felt from behind the arc. He was also able to turn defense to offense. Franklin made the most of his chances at the charity stripe. He was comfortable playing in transition. Franklin made plays for others in the flow of the game. He was tied in scoring with 20 points.

Kornegay has a rugged game and has no problem making his presence felt down low. He showcased his athleticism as a rim protector and from the dunker spots. He has an energetic motor that was consistently going. He has good touch inside and had no problem getting in the mix for 2nd chance efforts. Kornegay continues to get better with time and should have a big season in the pub. He finished with a double-double.

Scurry had a nose for being in all the right spots on the floor. He really knows how to score the basketball and converted on a lot of chances. He even flashed as a 3pt threat. Scurry got downhill to the foul line. He provided a great spark for Fels in the 2nd half with 15 points of his points coming then.
