At the five, he forcefully protected the rim with blocks and defensive rebounds, in addition to being a vertical threat in the paint on offense. Then at the four with another big, he played in space. Adedeji covered ground on closeouts and got deflections. He also looked smooth attacking off the catch and getting to spots in the second level for pull-up twos.

A big wing shooter, Donahue showcased his versatile floor spacing ability. He drained one three after another on pin downs and other actions. And even when defenders tried to run him off the line, he would simply pump-fake, then step-back to get the shot off. Understandably, Donahue wasn't much help on the offensive glass because he was spacing the floor. But he did chip in on the other end with defensive rebounds, as well as deflections.

Gonzalez is a legit table setter with utility off-ball. When he wasn't pressuring the ball on defense, he was conducting the offense in the halfcourt with drive-and-kicks and in the open floor with long outlet passes. Gonzalez got to the cup as a scorer too, playing off two feet each time to absorb contact. But when they wanted to give the defense a different look or just needed a bucket, he got off the ball, then fired from three off of DHOs.

Always within the flow of the game, Pace was the engine behind the R1 offense. He made it look easy, pulling up in transition or stepping behind a screen for threes off the dribble. When he didn't see anything he liked from behind the arc, he went inside to his spots in the midrange for jumpers or through the corner skip when he drew an extra man. Pace facilitated as well. He made split second decisions to swing the ball and he fed his big men in the post.

Starling's toughness and all-around activity enabled his team to play small without sacrificing anything on defense or on the boards. He deflected passes and grabbed a number of rebounds on both sides of the court. And every chance he got, Starling went up above the rim for huge dunks. He also cashed in from three. Once one went in, others did soon after.
