Suiting up with a handful of his soon-to-be AAU teammates on the New Balance circuits, Franklin gave a glimpse of what should be a big spring in store with a smooth 30-point performance. Despite the loss, Franklin was among the most dynamic scorers to take the floor all night, showcasing his multi-level attack. He was effective as a shotmaker both off the catch and getting into the midrange off the dribble while also showing his athleticism in the open floor on a number of highlight finishes. Franklin has been playing at a consistently high level dating back to the high school season and should be on D1 radars heading into a crucial spring and summer.

Coming back to South Jersey after a year across the river at Archbishop Ryan (PA), Franklin has given the Panthers an immediate boost after having to sit the early portion of the season due to NJ transfer rules. Averaging close to 17 points a game for a new-look Camden group that earned the second seed in SJ Group 2, Franklin is a pure three-level scorer who’s shown he can generate offense efficiently from an off-ball role. He’s a proficient threat as a spotup shooter, opening up his dribble-drive game to get all the way to the rim or stop and pop in the midrange. Franklin is a smooth, fluid athlete with great length in the backcourt and some explosiveness near the rim. He’s coming off arguably his best career game, a 33-point outburst over Woodbury in the Camden County semifinals, and should be a popular name among scholarship-level programs this spring and summer.

After sitting the beginning portion of the season due to transfer rules, Franklin has been a consistent standout as a junior and continued that trend with a 16-point effort in the win. Franklin was a consistently dangerous off-ball weapon whether running the wing in transition or spotting up in the halfcourt. He made quick decisions whether to catch and shoot or attack off the bounce, showing a smooth stroke off both the catch and dribble with a quick first step getting to the rim. His scoring ability and rangy athleticism continue to have Franklin tracking as a clear scholarship-level prospect.

Another transfer who made the jump over the bridge from Eastern (NJ), Franklin actually saw an uptick in his production from his freshman year along with the notable jump in competition. A long and athletic presence in the backcourt, he possesses a good deal of polish as a scorer and finisher. He plays effectively at all three levels offensively, though will have to continue to work on his consistency from the perimeter. We look forward to seeing him continue learning to apply his physical tools elsewhere on the game outside of scoring.

This former New Jersey standout (Eastern HS) debuted with AR in June at Philly HS Live and impressed with several double-digit scoring efforts. Franklin is a multi-skilled guard with the speed and handles to carve up opposing defenses off the dribble. He can get to the cup and finish with a dunk on a defender’s head or a creative kiss off the glass. If a defender sags off him, Franklin will hit the three-ball. Franklin is also a dangerous transition scorer. In addition to all these scoring skills, Franklin possesses the court vision and basketball IQ to work as a pass first primary ball handler.
