The first full week of May is here, meaning the AAU season is about to get into full swing. The 2027 class is looking to make its mark this month, especially in Group 3. Here are the 2027 Group 3 prospects who could have a breakout May.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler'], 6'3 PG/SG Millburn

Redler is one of the top guard prospects in Essex County and should show why this month. The 6'3 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Redler is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finishes well around the rim. He can also play off the ball and slides his feet on the defensive end. Redler is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this May.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202014' first='Rey' last='Weinseimer'], 6'1 PG Manasquan

Weinseimer missed the majority of the 2025-26 season due to injury, but the injury won't stop him from having a big May. The 6'1 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and rises up with confidence on his jumper. Weinseimer can also score in the mid-range and moves well without the ball in his hands. He finds his open teammates in the half court and works hard on the defensive end. Weinseimer's ability to run the offense effectively is something that will help his stock in a big way over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347935' first='Keyshawn' last='Franklin'], 6'3 SG Camden

Franklin had big games for the High over the course of the season and should carry that form over into May. The 6'3 guard has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and can finish through contact. Franklin sets his feet before he shoots and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He works hard on the glass and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Franklin is a lanky guard prospect who should make an impact at both ends of the floor during this month.

[player_tooltip player_id='2709454' first='Brooklyn' last='Jelinsky'], 6'4 CG/PG Wayne Hills

Jelinsky has the ability to play either guard spot, which makes him a prospect to track this month. The 6'4 guard plays with composure on the floor as he rarely gets sped up by on-ball pressure and threads passes to his open teammates. Jelinsky uses his size to see over his defender and wastes little motion in his release. He pushes the pace well in transition and is an underrated defender. Jelinskyk is a skilled guard prospect who should put his game on full display throughout May.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202015' first='Azyris' last='Richmond'], 6'7 PF Camden

Richmond is one of the more intriguing post prospects in the class with his ability to play either the four or the five. The 6'7 forward is effective in the dunker spot as he knows how to find space down low and finishes strong around the rim. Richmond rolls hard to the basket off the pick-and-roll and shows a high release on his free throws. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his length to influence shots on the defensive end. Richmond is a tough forward prospect whose ability to control the paint is something that will help his recruitment throughout May.

Other Prospects to Track:

[player_tooltip player_id='2858263' first='Zach' last='Derstine'], 6'11 C/PF Wayne Valley

[player_tooltip player_id='2421373' first='Tommy' last='Calabrese'], 5'11 PG/SG Cliffside Park

[player_tooltip player_id='2628174' first='Kanye' last='Perkins'], 6'7 PF Middle Township

[player_tooltip player_id='2380816' first='De-an' last='Armstrong'], 6'0 PG Payne Tech

[player_tooltip player_id='3544142' first='Adin' last='Goldschneider'], 6'1 PG/SG Tenafly
