The guards were great. But the frontcourt prospects were intriguing and made the difference. Here are five from this past weekend:

Gilhool strung together flashes of skill as a stretch forward that elevated his team on both ends. He established his touch from deep early with threes from the top of the key and the occasional long two. Playing off of his jumpshots, he pressured the rim off-ball by rolling and playing off the catch. Catching the ball on the move unlocked his passing ability, going high-low to whoever was in the low post or kicking back out to someone ready to fire from the corner. Furthermore, Gilhool paired the floor spacing with some rim protection on defense, altering attempts inside and pulling away a few rebounds.

Without having to build-up momentum on fastbreaks or cuts, Hamilton found open pockets in the paint off-ball and finished strong when he caught drop-off passes. Even on the low block with his back to the basket, he beat his man with a quick spin or shake, then laid the ball up over him. His play-finishing extended behind the arc too, where he's developing as a horizontal floor spacing. The less-heralded aspect of his game of his rebounding. Hamilton capped off possessions with his effort to grab boards in traffic.

Aside from the twitchy and explosive athleticism, which he used to block shots and play above the rim, Matthews showcased his prowess as a secondary playmaker. Off of defensive boards and steals, he orchestrated transition offense by going from end-to-end for two or by kicking the ball ahead to get the assist. Matthews also created for others out of horns sets and other quick action by catching the ball at the elbow and hitting a cutter or kicking to a 3-point shooter. And when someone swung the ball his way on the perimeter, Matthew drained a couple threes of his own.

Coming off the bench for WeR1, Williams fit in seamlessly with different lineups Bec of his ability to space the floor, his play strength, and his willingness to rebound. After hitting one triple, his teammates went back to the well, giving him the opportunity to hit more (which he capitalized on). Even when he wasn't scoring or getting touches on offense, Williams still crashed the boards on both sides of the floor. He pushed the ball off of defensive rebounds and, on offensive ones, made the most of second-chance opportunities.
