One Thought Per Team

Orono. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] having Groves and Wooley for one more year combined with solid role players around them make them a state contender. The injury to Chavez this off-season will be interesting in terms of how it plays its part.

Benilde-St. Margaret's. BSM was a basket away from state last year and they are right on the Orono heels coming in. I think the Knights lost a bit more than Orono did but the addition of Stuttley has the potential to get this team to state.

Delano. The Tigers have that scoring punch again in Iversen and Schutlz plus good role players. This will be more about how the new coaching transition goes because the talent is there. If the transition goes smooth, watch out for Delano.

Richfield. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] have a top scorer in the state in Armstrong and a top up and coming scorer in Collins plus others. They are a top ten team and if their chemistry is right they could also win the section.

Mound-Westonka. Another contender? Another top 15 team in the section? Yes. The Kraay and Drill combo plus hard working players around them mean the Hawks are also going to be battling.

Robbinsdale Cooper. Cooper was good in the league last year but didn't quite have the talent they have had. Bo Powell will always have them battling so there is no night off with Cooper.

Academy of Holy Angels. AHA could be sneaky. They have some size, a couple returning quality players, and a bit more depth than I realized. Not sure they have the go-to guy to win enough games but they could be a bit better than I thought.

Bloomington Kennedy. Kennedy was 4-24 last year and they have a new coach yet again. [player_tooltip player_id='2434735' first='Malik' last='Johnson'] is pretty good but how much more change can a program take? Hopefully for the kids the new direction becomes a consistent direction.
