capped off a strong campaign with

Academic this past weekend. Continues to show his growth as a big wing or stretch-four depending on the group on the floor, as he’s a fluid athlete out on the wing but has the length at 6’6 to make an impact as a shot blocker defensively. Against Crossfire he showed a smooth release on his outside jumper, and was keeping his team in the game in the 2nd half with some big buckets. Made a big impact defensively coming up with at least 2 steals while also blocking a pair of jumpers which showed his ability to move his feet with smaller wings.

Nate brings so much to the table with his length and shooting ability. He has been one of the best non-guard shooters I have seen all summer, being such a tough player to contest with his 6’6” frame, quick release, and high shot point. He also showed flashes of working with his back to the basket, making shots over shorter defenders. He can use his length to block and alter shots and come away with contested rebounds as well.

this weekend, being the clear second option for his team. The 6’6” forward is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc and is so hard to defend in the catch-and-shoot with the combination of his length and quick jump shot. He has also improved as a ball handler and showed flashes of creating off the dribble. Chavez also blocked a ton of shots and was a difference maker as an interior defender.

Despite the tough loss to Northstar Titans , Nate had some nice moments for Minnesota Heat Academic. He’s put together a strong spring stretching the floor as a shooter with his 6’6 frame, while also showcasing his defensive versatility. Able to use his long frame as a shot blocker while also moving well enough to defend out on the perimeter. Showed some athleticism in the open floor with a transition dunk towards the end of the game. Prospect who continues to stand out this spring.

Nate has been putting together a solid spring running with Minnesota Heat Academic. At 6’6 he can play on the wing or as more of a stretch-four. Moves fluidly with his long and lanky 6’6 frame, and is comfortable handling out on the perimeter. Three point shooting threat who is going to force opposing wings and forwards to defend him out beyond the arc. Nate puts his length to use on the defensive end, impressing as a rebounder and a shot blocker in the game I watched on Saturday.

Nate had a fantastic performance in a Saturday win, scoring 16 first half points. He has a lengthy 6’6” frame which makes him a very intriguing prospect with the combination of his skill on the perimeter. He can pull up from three off the dribble or work without the ball for catch-and-shoot looks. Chavez was also a difference maker on the boards, using his length to grab contested offensive rebounds for tough second chance baskets around the rim.

Nate Chavez – Chavez is a six-foot-six-inch 2025 wing from Orono. Chavez’s best skill is spot-up shooting from deep where he made 40% of his 3’s for the 2023-24 season, and comes off screens ready to unload well. Weak-side help defender because of height.
