One Thought Per Team

DeLaSalle. The Islanders do not have that consistent, reliable star that they have had in previous years BUT they are very deep. This is a program that is ten deep if they want to be. You can see six names on the list above, and I would have liked to squeeze [player_tooltip player_id='2533408' first='Deon' last='Wallace-Johnson'] on there too (a sophomore) and maybe [player_tooltip player_id='2175468' first='Marcus' last='Anderson'].

St. Paul Johnson. The Governors are in an interesting spot. They lost four all league players who were also four of their top five scorers. However, I think they have the talent in the sophomore and junior classes to be just as good, and if the chemistry is there, maybe even better than last year's 19-win team!

Mahtomedi. The Zephyrs seem to be in a transition year as they lost a lot of good players. However, remember that we all wrote them off for dead last year when they lost their first seven games and eight of their first nine. They bounced back winning 12 of 13 finishing 16-12.

Hill-Murray. This might be the year. If not now, then when? On one hand the best Pioneer players return after an 11-win season. On the other hand, they only one four games in what was a very bad league in terms of big school basketball. Who will Hill-Murray be?

St. Anthony Village. The Huskies are such an interesting program. They always have a couple very good players, but never enough depth. They are always better than people expect, but never really good enough to make a run. Is that the case again?

Columbia Heights. This is a start over. New coach, only one player back from last year after graduation and transfers hit, and I am guessing many will have them as an afterthought. Which might just be the motivation they need.

North St Paul. NSP has a player in [player_tooltip player_id='2465512' first='Duke' last='King'] that you should know right now because he has the potential to have an amazing season. Scored 11 a game last year and could have a monster junior season.

Minneapolis Camden. [player_tooltip player_id='1617739' first='Eban' last='Lo'] is back after an all league season which is good. Camden (used to be Patrick Henry) was a two win City team last year and a six win team overall.

Minneapolis Edison. This is a true start over. New coach, new top players, new everything, and they are facing an uphill battle.
