Desert Pines took on a long and athletic Edge Prep team, but Aaron McMorran was still able to get his shots off. The freshman phenom scored 8 of the first 11 points for the Jaguars and finished with 16 total. His most impressive makes were couple of deep 3's and a high arcing floater. McMorran also cleverly created a few shots for his teammates. Overall, he played a great game and facilitated a lot of the offense for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1965276' first='Quentin' last='Stewart'] was locked in for his first ever Border League game. The 6'8 forward played superb defense throughout the game, and wisely leveraged his length and frame to keep his opponents from scoring. Stewart's play also caught my eye on the offensive end. He made some tough shots around the rim and got to the free throw line as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1253129' first='Mason' last='Abittan'] put on an entertaining offensive performance against DME Academy. A majority of his scoring came from beyond the arc and at the free throw line. His ability to get his own shots is fun to watch, and is also helped keep Air Nado in the game until DME Academy pulled away at the end. Which college that Mason chooses, will be getting a certified bucket getter.

Lantz battled in the paint the entire game for rebounds. Although DME had quite a few players with height, Lantz still faired well. He also did a decent job on defense, using his size and wingspan to contest shots. On offense, he buried a 3 and had some good drives.

Roberts came in off the bench and really provided some spark for his team. I first noticed his energy and effort on the defensive end. Then he started to get it going on offense. He hit a couple of triples, got to the rim, and had 13 points total in the second half. Although Utah Prep got the win by a big margin, Roberts never stopped competing.

Cooper is a dynamic shot maker who can also play some stout defense. He scored in the paint on a few occasions and got to the line. Cooper also connected on a 3 point attempt and made some plays for his teammates. On defense, he had to guard AJ Dybantsa on a few possessions. From what I could tell, it looked like AJ wasn't creating quite as much space as he was against other defenders.
