Andrews Osborne Academy Practice Notes

I visited some of the marquee prep programs for practice across northeast Ohio this week and on Thursday I stopped by Andrews Osborne Academy. In this article I'll break down some of the notable prospects I saw.    The lone committed prospect on this team, Morris is a high feel point guard who can really pass the basketball. Coming all the way from the west coast to Ohio, Morris impressed me with his ability to push the tempo and get his teammates to run on the fast break with him. Texas A&M Corpus Christi got themselves a setup man in the class of 2025.     Another 2024 prospect taking a post-grad year in Ohio, Daisy is a strong off guard who had some impressive burst on the ball and shot-making ability. I was impressed with his sudden change of pace and ability to play above the rim in transition. Looks like a player who will draw some solid college interest with this post-grad year.     The tallest player on the roster, Otite has some interesting physical tools that are hard to find. He had a handful of dunks during the practice session, showing his ability to catch and finish above the rim in the paint. Overall I liked the way he ran the floor and protected the rim, a name to monitor in 2026.     Aborowa has three more seasons until he hits the college level and while he's a raw prospect right now, he's got plenty of time to iron out his game. A strong frame with solid positional size from the wing and the ability to slash to the rim is a good combo to start with for Aborowa. I'll be monitoring the growth of his game over the next few years, a name to know in northeast Ohio.     A high academic prospect, Walsh has all the skills to be an impactful small college big. With his size, athleticism and production I saw, he checks some key boxes. The lefty finished well at the rim with a couple dunks and a sweet reverse layup. I'll be curious to see exactly where Walsh's recruitment ends up and want to see him again in a game.     An athletic wing, Russell might've been the highest flyer in the whole gym. On the fast break you can really see where he shines with an easy transition dunk. Still has a ways to go with his handle and perimeter shooting but the physical tools are very interesting, getting an extra year to sharpen his basketball skills could help his chances of playing early at the college level.     The top shooter in the gym on Thursday, Badea was making in rain all throughout practice. With a quick release and the confidence to fire away from long distance, Badea was knocking shots down at a high percentage. Combine that with his explosive vertical athleticism and he's got some tools that intrigued me. A name I'll be following this winter, I really want to see if Badea can improve his ball handling and tightness of his dribble this year.
