A dominant performance from Singleton who played all but the final 19 seconds of the contest, scoring 26 points on 60% shooting from the field and a game-high nine rebounds and a game-high three steals. One of the top players in the OHSAA, Singleton has gone on a historic run to get back to the state title game. When Columbus Academy took control of the game was when Singleton had back-to-back alley-oop dunks. Maybe my favorite play of the game came when Singleton drove, lost the ball and quickly regained it before finishing an and-1 layup. Incredible way for Singleton's high school career to end, with a chance at redemption against the team that beat Columbus Academy last year on the same stage.

I wasn't able to see Columbus Academy all regular season, so this was my first chance to see Zumberge in person. I was impressed by his initial size and how he moved up and down the court. Skilled with the ability to stretch the floor and make a pass out of the post, Zumberge can do a handful of things with the ball in his hands. Hoping to see him improve his hands as he could've scored a few more buckets with contested catches but Zumberge projects as a Divison I target and will debut pretty high in our 2028 rankings when they are next updated.

A historic run by the Tornadoes was ended at UD Arena after they won the regional title over Ironton at the Convocation Center in Athens. I was impressed by the senior class of West Muskingum, most notably Bennett and [player_tooltip player_id='2834703' first='Kyle' last='Porter']. Bennett knocked down three 3-pointers, hitting shots off the catch and as a pick and fade target. The MVL has had a fast rise across the state of Ohio and West Muskingum is the latest program to crash the state tournament from that league.

In a grind it out game where neither team could make much from the outside, Perkins was the most valuable guy on the court. A big man who knows exactly who he is, Perkins had some grown man finishes and rebounds in the paint. With soft hands, Perkins does an excellent job catching passes in traffic and getting shots up at the rim. Look for Perkins and Zumberge to be an individual match-up to watch in tomorrow's state title.

One of the top defensive guards in Ohio's 2027 class, Hill tied for a game-high with 3 steals, using his quick hands to strip opposing ball handlers. Offensively, Hill had a couple nice assists in the pick and roll game to Perkins. My favorite scoring play by Hill was when he put the brakes on a drive and finished on the right side of the rim with his left hand as a Summit Country Day defender flew by with a block attempt. Hill will look to make it three state titles in three years for the Falcons on Saturday.
