The #1 Overall Player in South Carolina's 2025 Class, [player_tooltip player_id='1145334' first='Jordan' last='Watford'], heads the 2025 Class 4A Elite 8. Watford attends Lancaster HS which is in 4A Region 3, one of the class's regions that was affected most by reclassification leaving the Bruins to be a clear favorite to win it. Jordan is a Guard with great positional size and he has the ball in his hands every possession running the offense. He is a force on both ends of the floor and will fill the stat sheet with efficient scoring, strong rebounder, high-level playmaking, and multiple blocks and steals each game. Watford committed to Queens University on October 1st.

Next up is [player_tooltip player_id='1149789' first='Tristan' last='Thompson'] of Wilson High School in 4A Region 5. Thompson is the prototype two-way playmaking Wing in the state of South Carolina. He is a terrific on-ball defender with versatility to guard multiple positions, while also being able to affect the game on offense in several ways. Although he had a very good Summer, Thompson will have more opportunities to run the offense for the Tigers than he did for Upward Stars SE. During the 2023-24 High School Season, Tristan averaged a team-high 17.8 Points Per Game on 50% field goal percentage. Thompson committed to Coastal Carolina on September 28th.

Third in the 2025 Class 4A Elite 8 is the #4 Ranked Prospect in Prep Hoops SC's Senior Class, [player_tooltip player_id='1341455' first='Abijah' last='Franklin']. Franklin was a major piece for the Wren Hurricanes who were the 3A Upper State Runners Up last year. Franklin was the 3A State Player of the Year averaging a whopping 23.9 Points Per Game. Abijah is near impossible to stop when he gets a head of steam towards the paint, but is also skilled enough to step back and create space with limitless range. Wren were placed in Region 1 after reclassifying from 3A to 4A and they will be the favorite to win that region's championship. Franklin started the wave of Senior Commitments in the Palmetto State, announcing he would continue his career at Furman University on August 28th.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157438' first='Daron' last='Dunbar'] continues the list of the top 8 Seniors in Class 4A. He is the first of 3 players in this group who play in 4A Region 4. North Augusta High School is one of the toughest places to play in the Lower State and Dunbar has been "the guy" for the Yellow Jackets since the start of his Junior Year. Daron holds a physical frame that is ready to play at the next level and he uses that to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Dunbar has a good pull-up game in the mid-range, finishes through contact at the rim, sees the floor well, and has active feet and hands on defense. Dunbar committed to Augusta on September 30th.

[player_tooltip player_id='1025879' first='LJ' last='Britt'] is the highest remaining uncommitted player in the Prep Hoops SC 2025 Rankings. LJ attends Gray Collegiate Academy, which jumped up 2 classifications from 2A to 4A and was placed in 4A Region 4. He is the lone returning starter from the team that won it's third straight State Championship last season, averaging 7.9 Points Per Game to go with over 3 Rebounds Per Game, 3 Assists Per Game, and nearly 2.5 Steals Per Game. Britt was terrific in that role for the War Eagles, but he will have more usage this season particularly with the ball in his hands creating his own shots. LJ holds offers from South Carolina State and Rice.

Next up is another uncommitted Senior and one of the top big men in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1215474' first='Teon' last='Tindal']. Tindal plays for Crestwood High School in 4A Region 5. He is a dominant force in the paint on both ends of the floor, scoring with his back to the basket, facing up from 15 feet and out, cleaning the class, and protecting the rim. He is a decent shooter and has shown some qualities in working off the dribble, but against most High School matchups he doesn't need to leave the paint. In 2023-24, Teon had some remarkable per-game averages including 15 Points Per Game, 10 Rebounds Per Game, and 6 Blocks Per Game. Tindal holds an offer from Vorhees, but I would expect his recruitment to stir up with a strong start to the season.

The #10 Ranked Prospect in Prep Hoops SC's Senior Class, [player_tooltip player_id='1407052' first='Amare' last='Anderson'], makes the 2025 Class 4A Elite 8. Anderson and the Yellow Jackets play in 4A Region 2 and had a strong season in 2023-24 winning 24 games and making it to the Upper State Championship. Amare was a major piece in that squad averaging 16.0 Points Per Game on 43% shooting from the field. He has excelled on and off the ball throughout his career often playing on the ball during the Grassroots Season and off the ball during the High School despite still having a strong usage rate. Anderson has a quick handle, good vision, explosive athleticism, is confident pulling up in the mid-range, and is a great on-ball defender. Amare committed to Presbyterian College on September 26th.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220039' first='Amarii' last='King'] is the lone transfer on this list after making the move from Cardinal Newman to Brookland Cayce. King averaged 10.2 Points Per Game shooting 43% from the field and 35% from behind the arc. He is a two-sport athlete, excelling on the football field as well as on the basketball court. His athleticism clearly translates to the hardwood as he is explosive in attack, works hard on both ends of the floor, and is strong with the ball in his hands. King is a polished scorer with a good foundation for his jump shot and he is capable of playing on or off the ball. Amarii holds football offers from Hampton-Sydney, West Georgia, Erskine, and Lenoir-Rhyne.
