It was easy to see why Anderson is committed to Presbyterian College. He’s an energetic two-way guard prospect at 6-foot-2 who showed he could defend the top player on the other team while also leading the way in the backcourt. He did well communicating with teammates and getting them in the right spots. He did well in the halfcourt to showcase his strength and athleticism with a number of strong finishes around the rim. He was selected as a Top Performer by Phenom staff when it was all said and done.

Amare headlines our list of Day One Standouts thanks to a tremendous performance against Ridge View at Bob Jones. He set the tone early with strong downhill drives and a high level of defensive intensity. Anderson’s game eventually branched out to perimeter shooting, transition highlights, and rim protection, doing it all for the Yellow Jackets in an exciting win. He finished with a stacked box score, putting up 22 Points, 5 Rebounds, 6 Assists, and 3 Blocks. Aside from the on-ball defense, Amare’s vision might have been his most impressive attribute, reading and recognizing defensive rotations to find open guys despite being able to score at will.

Amare is another prospect from SC that will be playing with a major Under Armour program in Charlotte this Spring. He is a two-time All-State player and is coming off a Junior Season where he averaged 16.0 Points Per Game and just over a steal and an assist per game. Anderson has a comfortable mid-range game, is an athletic finisher at the rim, and plays hard on the defensive end on the floor.

Anderson is another Junior who stood out for Greer this weekend. He had 20 points for the Yellow Jackets in their tight win over cross-county rival Greenville. Amare had a great overall game but was most dominant in the second quarter, where he had 10 of 20. He is a tremendous athlete with a beautiful jump-shooting stroke. He is capable of efficiently scoring in the mid-range and finishing around defenders at the basket.
