Dunbar excelled at knocking down jump shots, both in the mid-range and behind the arc. Although he cooled off a little bit in the second half, Daron still made one of the plays of the tournament with a nasty posterizing dunk through a foul, which he converted into a three-point play with the ensuing free throw line. Dunbar finished with 21 Points in the win.

North Augusta High School is one of the toughest places to play in the Lower State and Dunbar has been “the guy” for the Yellow Jackets since the start of his Junior Year. Daron holds a physical frame that is ready to play at the next level and he uses that to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Dunbar has a good pull-up game in the mid-range, finishes through contact at the rim, sees the floor well, and has active feet and hands on defense. Dunbar committed to Augusta on September 30th.

Dunbar is another high-level prospect from South Carolina’s 2025 Class who stood out on Friday. Daron showed some dominant flashes in both halves of a comfortable win over Legacy Early College, going for 20 Points and 10 Rebounds. It felt like he was extra determined to make a statement in the Yellow Jackets’ first game of the summer and he grabbed the rebound on almost all of his own missed shots early in the game. Dunbar has a college-ready body and has a tremendous all-around game. He was a handful for his defender possession after possession, using his strength and athleticism to get two feet in the paint with plans of scoring every time.

Dunbar scored the ball from all 3 levels here today for the new Stars Gold 17U program. Daron has a very good mid-range game, and it showed today. He was able to stalk the baseline for some buckets in return.
Daron brings a competitive edge to the floor at all times with his play. Dunbar has no problems playing on the ball as a defender.
