The Toledo Top 64 brought out 64 talented players from northwest Ohio to compete in front of over two dozen college coaches. While the college coaches were focusing on the seniors in attendance, it was good for the underclassmen to be able to play against the older kids and get some early exposure. In this article I'll spotlight five 2027/28 standouts.

A wing guard who can make shots and has a good frame for a player his age, Creager gets it done on Friday's in the Fall and all throughout the week in the winter. I left most impressed with Creager's frame and perimeter shooting ability but am curious to see what he looks like at the high school level with the ball in his hands more. I also thought he didn't play scared as he drew a handful of fouls with his aggressiveness on the court. A name to know in rural northwest Ohio's 2027 class.

Bertke did a nice job of running the floor and getting out in transition for his team. A very naturally talented player, Bertke worked to find a balance of playing on and off the ball when he was on the court. Also a dangerous 3-point shooter, Bertke knocked down a couple spot-up triples from the corner. Lots of long-term upside with Bertke as he should be expected to take a big jump this winter with Lima Shawnee.

An athlete who is starting to turn the corner, Chenault is one of the more intriguing prospects from Toledo's 2027 class. Chenault was more productive than I've seen him before with a couple eye-popping flash plays. Able to grab and go off defensive rebounds and push in transition, Chenault moves at a different tempo and burst than a lot of other guys on the court. I'll be very intrigued to keep tabs on Chenault's development because he is clearly on the right track at the moment.

Another athlete who is slowly starting to put the pieces together, Johnson had one of the more impressive dunks that came off a nice rip move to create separation. I really like the way Johnson moves in transition with his explosive athleticism. Will need to see more from him this winter before adding him to the rankings but Johnson has been on our watchlist and is moving closer to getting the elevation to a ranked player on the website.

One of the quickest players on the court, Williams is an absolute blur on the court. One of the few 2028 prospects invited to the event, Williams held his own against older competition. A player I was already familiar with because he attended our Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, Williams continued to perform well on Sunday and projects as one of the top point guards in northwest Ohio's 2028 class already.
