Today is National Punctuation Day! Punctuation plays an important role in our lives every single day. It helps us organize thoughts and ideas so others can see what we are trying to express with clarity. Of course, I think I found a way to tie punctuation to many of Michigan's top basketball talent.

The good old fashioned period. It signifies the end of a sentence. It's a declarative punctuation mark. Here's a declarative statement about Michigan high school basketball prospects: There are a lot of talented forwards with a wide range of skill sets in the senior class this year. Let's start with [player_tooltip player_id='1157486' first='Camden' last='Karel']. The star forward has an elite post game, but can also attack from the perimeter with exciting ball skills. [player_tooltip player_id='1289694' first='Sean' last='Wesolek'] fits the bill as an old fashioned powerful PF that can outmuscle many. There's also [player_tooltip player_id='2058671' first='Tamarion' last='Kindle'] and his length and rim protection. Want more? How about [player_tooltip player_id='1438243' first='Elija' last='Langston']. The combination of length, strength and athleticism just can't be taught.

!

The exclamation point is used to show intense emotion at the end of a sentence. Well, there are a lot of juniors that scouts and coaches speak very excitedly about. Let's start with [player_tooltip player_id='1588212' first='Brandon' last='Mercer II']. Mercer is a spark plug with the ball in his hands that flat out makes plays. [player_tooltip player_id='1588220' first='Quinton' last='Swanson'] is another that deserves an exclamation point. He's dynamic in the open floor and can find angles to attack off the bounce.

,

Commas are often used when listing things in a sentence. There are some talented teams that have long lists of exciting prospects. The Traverse City Central junior class requires a number of commas to list the talent. [player_tooltip player_id='1588185' first='Brendan' last='Slack'] was one of the top performers statewide this summer with his ability to score and make solid decisions with the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='1588193' first='Ethan' last='Rademacher'] got dubbed Mr. Big Shot and is a do-it-all type player with a winners metality. [player_tooltip player_id='2279487' first='Cassius' last='Feeney'] is an elite perimeter defender that also has speed with the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='1864825' first='Peyton' last='Viehman'] ended the summer on a tear. He's a versatile and athletic forward that can finish above the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='1588171' first='Owen' last='Ribel'] is a tall and long shooter that can groove his jumper and has deep range.

?

We all have questions, so we all need the question mark. Here's a great question - Who's the top guard in the class of 2027? There's a lot of players that could stake claim to that spot. [player_tooltip player_id='2140508' first='Kingston' last='Thomas'] just showed out at the Sophomore ID Camp. [player_tooltip player_id='2374006' first='Jensen' last='LePla'] is explosive and versatile. [player_tooltip player_id='2373451' first='Peyton' last='Kemp'] is silky smooth with a well rounded perimeter attack. [player_tooltip player_id='2276974' first='Stevie' last='Hall'] is a grinder that brings it on both ends. That's just the start of the elite backcourt talent in the state.
