2027 Rankings: Wing Stock Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first 2027 class rankings by Prep Hoops Illinois have been released.&nbsp; This is one of the most anticipated classes in recent memory and they certainly lived up to it over their first high school and grassroots seasons.&nbsp; Here we dive into the rankings in <strong>2027 Rankings: Wing Stock Risers!</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2458187' first='J'dyn' last='Lloyd'] (Belleville West)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #14</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lloyd had a strong June with his high school team where we saw him at multiple events.&nbsp; Nice frame, strength, and athleticism out of this metro east 6'4” shooting guard.&nbsp; Fluid with the ball in his hands being slippery in transition getting to the rack.&nbsp; Like what we saw out of him as a shooter especially in the mid-range pouring in jumpers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2532349' first='Owen' last='Kirby'] (Normal U-High)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #15</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kirby had a breakout performance for himself at The Last Dance where he shined a shot maker from three.&nbsp; With his legit size already on the perimeter, long arms, and ability to shoot it from distance at a high clip this is going to be a prospect a lot of colleges get in on early.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2532342' first='Lamari' last='Carpenter'] (Glenbard North)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #16</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carpenter caught our attention with [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] during July as a long and rangy scorer with a ultra smooth game.&nbsp; Plus shot maker from three that poured them in at the Sophomore ID Camp in August.&nbsp; Legit three level scorer that has defensive instincts to get steals and take them the other way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2125658' first='Kendall' last='Meyers'] (Marist)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #17</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Meyers was one of the biggest revelations from the Sophomore ID camp.&nbsp; The Marist sophomore has grown height wise into a legit small forward, but maintained all the ball skills he had as a guard.&nbsp; Crafty scorer that knows how to use his strength to his advantage scoring in the paint along with filling it up from mid-range.&nbsp; Passes very well for a small forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2532318' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] (St. Viator)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #24</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Charles is among the best pure athletes in the class.&nbsp; Super bouncy shooting guard that plays well above the rim.&nbsp; Explosive with the ball in his hands especially attacking on the baseline.&nbsp; What we really liked was the development of his jump shot late in July and we saw it again at the Sophomore ID camp.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2540149' first='Tobyus' last='Banks'] (Curie)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Current Ranking: #25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Banks had a big time showing for [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] in July and looks to be a potential go to scorer for Curie this season.&nbsp; Strong and stocky guard that plays with physicality.&nbsp; Puts his head down to get scores at the cup, but also showed flashes on the jumper.&nbsp; Good rebounder and defender at about 6'2”.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
