With the summer season wrapping up we wanted to take a look at some of the prospects that went from unknown to players that will most likely be ranked in our next updates. These prospects made a name for themselves during the high school tournaments in June and in July with their travel teams. Here we examine Summer New Names Breakout: 2027 Wings!

[player_tooltip player_id='2540149' first='Tobyus' last='Banks'] (Curie – 2027)

Banks opened our eyes with a massive outing in their first game at The Last Dance for [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] 15U. Strong and stocky build with a bucket getters mentality. Scored on straight line takes down the lane along with being able to bomb in threes and turn steals into points on the other end with his defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125608' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] (St. Viator – 2027)

Plus athlete that at 6'1” proved he can be a force on both ends. Active on ball defender that impacts there. Offensively he loves to play above the rim with his pop. Dunks, reverse layups, and an array of other finishing moves off the bounce and in transition. When we saw him at UAA he shot it very well from three as well especially off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2540157' first='Vito' last='Rocca'] (Evanston – 2027)

This Evanston 6'4” shooting guard brings plus size to the position along with good athletics. Scored most of his points when we saw him off the bounce on crafty drives and acrobatic conversions at the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2499191' first='Rory' last='Haas'] (Lake Forest – 2027)

For that same [program_tooltip program_id='2075481' first='Fundamental' last='U'] 15U team Haas caught our attention. Also at 6'4” he can bomb in threes in bunches hitting four of them in the game we saw at UAA. Good length and has a crisp mid-range shot as well.

Owen Kirby (Normal West – 2027)

Kirby is a big wing at 6'4” from central Illinois that can flat out shoot the rock. At The Last Dance he had a breakout weekend with the way he showed he could make shots with plus size from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2255121' first='David' last='Showman'] (Wheaton Warrenville South – 2027)

The 6'2” shooting guard from WWS is a tough as nails wing that is crafty with the ball in his hands. Scored on shot fakes, euro steps, and pull ups. Compliments the players around him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2469073' first='Max' last='Beard'] (Woodstock – 2027)

Beard is a sharp shooter from the [program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'] that right now is a shooting specialist as we saw him knock in threes throughout the five games we saw his 15U team play in July.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125660' first='Lamari' last='Carpenter'] (Glenbard North – 2027)

Carpenter is a long and rangy wing with projectability. He has a smooth looking three point shot from the perimeter along with long strides being able to attack off the bounce.
