IRVINE — The 5th annual Hoops By Ugland Skills Summit took place Sunday at Beckman high school and featured more than 80 class players from the classes of 2025-2028 from throughout the state of California. Below we take a look at the top wing/forward performances from the event.

Craig Irons | 2025 | Hart (Newhall)

Irons was among the players we hadn't seen before and the senior was all of 7-feet tall. Irons is still pretty raw in his development but has some intriguing tools with his soft hands and touch around the basket. With the right program, and an extra year of development, Irons could be an intriguing long-term piece with the lack of true big men in the recruiting space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956520' first='Brayden' last='Kyman'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

Kyman continued to show why he is considered one of the most versatile prospects in the state. At 6-feet-8, the junior can step out and knock down the open three-point shot, score in the mid and low post areas and he has the ball skills, basketball IQ and vision to operate in a point-forward type of role.

[player_tooltip player_id='2119932' first='Danny' last='Kennard'] | 2025 | Foothill

Kennard is one of the more skilled big men available out west and he had that skill-set on full display Sunday. The senior has traditional back to the basket feel and finishing ability but also has the mobility and IQ to play in a modern ball-screen type of offense. The 6-foot-10 center has face-up touch out to 15 feet and is a capable passer out of low and mid-post touches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425665' first='Drew' last='Anderson'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

Like his high school teammate Kyman, Anderson is as versatile as they come at the high school level. The 6-foot-7 wing is a knock-down three-point shooter off the catch who can also use the bounce on pull-up jumpers and straight-line drive finishes. One thing that always stands out about Anderson - which was also evident in this event - is how hard he plays on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463215' first='James' last='Williams'] | 2026 | Bishop Manogue (NV)

Williams was one of the camp's top performers regardless of class or position. The 6-foot-4 junior has the skill-set to play a variety of positions but he likely tracks as a wing or two-guard type at the next level. Williams impressed with his vertical explosiveness, above the rim finishing and ability to create shots for himself off the dribble. He's one of the more under-recruited prospects out west.
