Wolfe is one of the top freshman in the state and it's really not even up for debate. He backed that statement at the Freshman Showcase. Wolfe is a positive vocal leader that makes good decisions with the ball. He's a multi level scorer that I saw bury catch and shoot 3's, a deep pull up 3 and am across the lane floater with touch. Wolfe was a 2 way impact player as he was seen deflecting passes, picking up steals and talking on D.

Witt definitely left his mark at the PH Freshman Showcase. He had a strong core and lower body that really helped him stand his ground if matched up with a bigger player. A part of Witt's game that really stood out was his grit and hustle. He was willing to hit the floor and do the dirty work. Witt showed the ability to finish at the rim, specifically with a pretty left scoop.

Chambers caught my eye with his intelligent game over the weekend. He had a knack for getting the ball up the floor and initiating the offense with the pass, and he did it efficiently. Chambers didn't over dribble or force the issue, but instead kept the ball moving. He was a willing screener off the ball. Chambers showed touch on his shot with a tough contested mid range jumper.

Nofz caught my eye when he was on the floor at the showcase. He has a nice point guard skill set. Nofz's quickness and overall speed, with and without the ball, was what really stood out to me. He had a super fast first step that often put defenders in a bad position right away. Nofz did a really nice job in transition where he could flat out beat the defense down the floor and fill a wing.

Van Prooyen was a very high impact player in Grand Rapids. He has a strong frame and big upside to his game. Van Prooyen showed a ton of versatility and hustle. He went at it every game from tip to buzzer. Van Prooyen seemed to have an influence all over the floor. He hit a deeper mid range pull up jumper, a deep catch and shoot triple and could run a wing in transition. Van Prooyen was a tough defender that seemed comfortable in the perimeter or down low.

Elliott certainly left his mark at the Freshman Showcase. I love when players let their defense do the talking at showcase events and that's just what he did. Elliott picked up stop after stop on that end of the floor. He was just simply willing to outwork you with his perimeter defense. Elliott defended off screens really well. He didn't get screened easily and always seemed to find his way through them with quickness.

Gauthier drew eyes on his game at the event. He had an impressive wingspan and seemed to know how to use it on the defensive end in particular. Gauthier was able to wall up and challenge shots. He picked up blocks and altered shots. Gauthier moved well laterally which made him a big asset with his help D. He looked like a high IQ player that really read the game. Gauthier was able to run the floor and get out in transition.

Smith-Powe showed all in attendance that he's a prospect to watch as he begins his high school basketball career. He played an intelligent game. You could tell that he's been around the basketball court and the moment wasn't too big for him. Smith-Powe played with his head up, helping him to see the floor and get the ball to it's spots. He showed that defenses are going to have to respect his jumper and his range beyond the arc.

Hinkle turned some heads at the Freshman Showcase. He played both an athletic and intelligent game. Hinkle made quality decisions with the ball and didn't force bad looks. In fact, he had a knack for finding and getting high percentage looks at the rim. Hinkle did this through activity on the offensive glass that led to put backs and with power moves under the rim. Defensively, he was strong and sturdy and stood his ground, usually forcing the ball out of his man's hands.
