The film starts with Gauthier attacking baseline and finishing at the rim. He gets off the ground and throws it home with force. Gauthier shows that he can fill it up from deep. I liked when he took a side dribble, found space and buried the triple. Gauthier shows his ability to connect on the catch and shoot as well. Defensively, he plays and stays vertical, even when leaving the ground. Gauthier looks like he can be a very influential rim protector.

I really like what Gauthier brings to the court. He’s long, athletic and bouncy. Gauthier can put the ball on the floor and use those physical gifts to finish at the rim with flare and force. I think he has a ton of upside. I won’t be at all surprised if he has a highlight reel after every game.

Jalen uses his tall, lanky frame to his advantage, pushing the ball in transition and covering ground efficiently with his length. Gauthier also shows shot-blocking ability both in the post and while tracking back in transition.

Gauthier is a wing to watch, now and in the future. He’s an athletic freshman that has the height and length to go with it. But the key is that he has tremendous body control to go with it. Most players at that age and height don’t have the feet and the control that Gauthier does. His development as a player will be fun to watch.

Gauthier drew eyes on his game at the event. He had an impressive wingspan and seemed to know how to use it on the defensive end in particular. Gauthier was able to wall up and challenge shots. He picked up blocks and altered shots. Gauthier moved well laterally which made him a big asset with his help D. He looked like a high IQ player that really read the game. Gauthier was able to run the floor and get out in transition.
