Smith-Powe caught a lot of eyes at the event. He’s a guard, but he can definitely use his strength to cause mismatches. In fact, he effectively took his man to the rim and finished with a power move. Smith-Powe also used his strength defensively to keep his assignments off their spot.

Smith-Powe drew some eyes last year at the Freshman Showcase and I’m sure he would again at the Sophomore ID Camp. He plays smart basketball, making good decisions and playing with poise. Smith-Powe sees the floor and makes good passes, but can also bury a jumper from mid range and deep.

Smith-Powe showed all in attendance that he’s a prospect to watch as he begins his high school basketball career. He played an intelligent game. You could tell that he’s been around the basketball court and the moment wasn’t too big for him. Smith-Powe played with his head up, helping him to see the floor and get the ball to it’s spots. He showed that defenses are going to have to respect his jumper and his range beyond the arc.
