George Fox held its fall elite camp on Saturday and over the course of an afternoon, head coach Maco Hamilton and assistant coach Brendan Jones were able to instruct and lead the campers through drills and competitive action. It was a smaller group than other elite camps we've attended this fall, half of which were Oregon natives so we were able to hone in on those prospects. Here are some of the notes we took on the "small school" players that attended - those from 2A-4A schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='2458239' first='Gavin' last='Hall'] (2025 Western Christian) - If we were asked to pick an Oregon MVP of the camp, our selection would have been Hall. The rising 5-foot-10 senior and returning 2A Player of the Year was a walking bucket with his mastery of the mid-range game, whether it was catching and shooting or pulling up off the dribble. He even posted up guys on occasion for a couple of step-back Js and wowed many of those watching with some shifty footwork and spin moves to free himself up for finishes. Overall he made good decisions with the basketball and also made a lot of effort on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1604665' first='Isaiah' last='Koehnke'] (2025 Regis) - Koehnke's reputation is as a three-point shooter - and while he made a couple that we saw, he didn't necessarily shoot it as well from the perimeter as we've seen in the past. However, he didn't just keep gunning away but rather looked to create off the bounce and get to the hoop for some finishes, and also showed good hustle on the offensive boards that led to more garbage buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2205000' first='Lucas' last='Zook'] (2025 Western Christian) - The last time we saw Zook play was at the 2A State Tournament Semis, where he did well mainly as a spot-up shooter. The 5-foot-9 rising senior drained the spot-up shots well at camp but was able to show a little more of his game off the dribble, canning some pull-up jumpers and even using his strength to post up smaller players inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2747516' first='Jace' last='Jonas'] (2026 Crook County) - Another underclassman that exhibited plenty of energy and grit was Jonas, who really got after it on both ends of the floor. The rising junior wasn't afraid of contact in the least on drives to the hoop and was able to knock down a few shots from the perimeter as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1604665' first='Isaiah' last='Koehnke'] (2026 Regis) - While he may have been one of the smallest guys at camp - only head coach Hamilton's 2029 son Kyrie was smaller - Koehnke didn't back down from anyone, especially on the defensive end where he used every inch of his 5-foot-8 frame to compete. Offensively he was a little limited to shooting from deep, but he showed good touch and buried a handful of threes.

Ryan Fullerton (2027 Oakland) - Although we did get to see Oakland play at the 2A tournament, Fullerton was a new name for us and we were pleasantly surprised with what we saw. The rising sophomore is very well built at 6-foot-2 for his age and he was extremely aggressive attacking the basket while also showing a decent touch on his shot.
