Best of the Best at Nike Mamba Invitational

Nike hosted the second annual Mamba Invitational this past weekend at L.A. Live outside of the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, bringing together some of the top talent in the country. The event featured elite players from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes, showcasing the best in their respective age groups.    Caleb stood out in a highly talented field by taking over games on both ends of the court, showcasing his ability to score at every level and impact the game defensively with his shot-contesting and shot-blocking skills as both an on-ball and help defender. His impressive combination of size, length, and athleticism, paired with a very good handle for his size, makes him a dominant force.     Sadiq made a strong case for being the best vertical athlete in an event filled with elite talent, consistently attacking the basket with aggression and looking to dunk whenever he was near the rim. His long arms and rebounding ability also stood out, and he's developing the skill set to become a threat from the perimeter as well.     Tyran showcased his ability to completely control the pace of games as a lead ball handler and strong rebounder, making a dominant all-around impact. His versatility on defense, driven by his strength, length, and athleticism, was on full display, and he showed off his elite above-the-rim finishing while showing improvement as a three-point shooter.     Jason is a dynamic combo guard with a pure scoring ability and impressive footwork that allows him to navigate the paint effectively. He exhibits a great touch around the basket with either hand and possesses a diverse finishing vocabulary to avoid shot blockers. Crowe can shoot from anywhere on the court, including several feet beyond the three-point line, and is very efficient at getting to the free throw line. His positional sense and ability to attack closeouts further enhance his offensive game.     Chris was the best all-around big man at the event and is a strong candidate for the top big man in his class nationally. With a very good handle for his size and impressive footwork, Cenac efficiently scores at all three levels and excels as both a roll man and pick-and-pop option.     Jordan impressed with his very strong build for a guard, showcasing his terrific athleticism and two-footed leaping ability. He excelled as a rebounder for his position and was elite in transition, demonstrating great footwork, body control, and defensive prowess. His powerful above-the-rim finishing and good touch around the rim with either hand further highlighted his impactful play.     Jaden displayed impressive size and strength, effectively using his physical tools to excel in various aspects of the game. He showed strong positional sense, was a solid screen setter, and a reliable rebounder. Toombs also demonstrated a good touch around the rim and solid post defense, contributing effectively as a rim runner and overall presence in the paint.     Trey's size and strength make him a versatile asset both defensively and offensively, effectively contributing on the glass and bringing the ball up court. His smooth footwork and creativity allow him to impact the game with a solid midrange and three-point shooting touch, as well as good finishing ability around the basket. McKenney also showcases playmaking skills, making him a well-rounded and impactful player.
